Painitng Eyes

I read this simple technique over at the Reapermini.com website and I think I'll try it out next time I'm doing some faces, its similar to how I do them, but with the addition of a dark outline.

Anyone else got any good techniques for painting eyes?

Although I would never suggest it, but there is a company in korea I think that produces eye decals!
They are absolutely tiny and come in all colors and pupil sizes. Would be cheating in my opinion but the final product looks crazy!

crazy! I find it fiddly enough putting on shoulder pad decals!

Looks good. I wonder if I can apply that to my 15mm FoW mini's...

Tried it out on Gandalf - comes out looking really good. Need to keep the band very thin though. Thanks for the tip

i like that idea but not all minis eyes are sculpted that well and most of us cant paint a 1mm oval around a 1/2 mm oval!

i ussually leave eyes till last, but anyway as you are highlighting the eye socket paint the inside, and not just the edge of the socket a bright tone.(makes the eye painting much easier).then pain the whole eye black.once dry paint the inside of the eye white leaving a thin black ring around the edge.then paint the pupil black, and finish with a tiny white dot in the top of your pupil!
