Whats on this Friday at the GG's?
Nothing locked in on the cards but we may be having another visit from our resident Warmachine/Hordes expert Doombreed. I am hoping to have my Warmachine stuff assembled in anticipation for my first battle. Meg should also have her pirates assembled and ready.
More Bloodbowl no doubt as the NFI continues to gain the interest of the other gamers. Depending on what else is happening my Orcs may hit the field... or maybe my human team I will be starting..
I have just finished working out the terms of my purchase of some more city fight terrain. I shall be working on this during the week and it should all be assembled before this session. Maybe a cityfight will break out?

Excellent Mr Hagrid! Next week the new cityfight terrain should be fully constructed. Would have been ready this week but I have a pamphlet to advertise the club to make (looks spiffy)!
We have a few new guys rocking up this week so should be interesting to see what they bring. We also have an existing member delving into the depths and depravities of 40K for the first time.
More Warmachine Demo Games, More Bloodbowl, more 40K and maybe some Mechwarrior!

What started off looking like a worrying turnout of 2 people putting together some models and scenery actually turned into a fun session. Once again we hit our typical number of 7-8 players but all who came along took part in various activities.
I finally got to have a full game of Warmachine. Brad came along again to demo the game and I was lucky enough to give it a whirl. It is an awesome game with some very simple mechanics but has very deep strategy. Although my strategy failed (as it normally does) I still pulled out a great turn felling 3 jacks with my Warcaster. Situation was short lived as the next turn I was destroyed.
It really does seem like the kind of game where it can go one sided for the entirety of the battle to quickly flip around in the other players favour.
I am definitiely fully supporting this game and am sure to quickly get together a sizable Khador force!
2 games of Bloodbowl were played at the same time whilst I was having my Warmachine battle. The NFI's recruiter had also bought a friend so hopefully its another face to add to our growing community!
I managed to get a little more work done on the city fight terrain but there is still a ways to go. Still I am already recieving comps on the stuff that is created and on top of that it has motivated the proposition of a Necromunda league in the near future!
Our new 40k player also got stuck into construcing his AOBR set so hopefully next week I can run a few demo games. If you are new to the hobby and want to sit in on a demo game then next week is the perfect time to do so.
Amongst all the hobby that was taking place the mad store owner had managed to cover his feet in red paint and started placing 'bloody' footprints through the horror DVD section. Not one to be left out of such shenanigans Meg too was soon dripping red paint on the walls and pressing in hand prints.
Madness!

cityfight stuff is looking excellent, I'm loving the skirmish tactics of warmachine, and it was great to have two games of BB happening as well, (Welcome Drew!). Not long and we'll need a night when we have full run of the place.

I will be doing some heavy work on the cityfight stuff this week. Im only going to get one and a half buildings from the Imperial Sector box set so I am hoping to get my hands on that $300 set they had out at the time of release on the cheap from a mate. If not I'm calculating I'll need another 4 Imperial Sectors for the table I want....
I have also started to gather bits and pieces for a jungle themed table. Been going to lots of pet shops lately and have managed a few good buys. I'll by a bulk load of the citadel jungle trees and I'll be good to get started on that too.
I envision it as being a really boggy, swampy jungle so there will be loads of water effects and difficult terrain to really allow for a different type of game. Will force lots of up close combats and make shooty armies really think about deployment to get those good firing lines. I can not wait to start this one!
If Brad can make it again next week I should be having a larger game of Warmachine. We will be adding in a unit or two of infantry models which should make the game even more interesting tactically. When I started buying stuff a few years back I always wanted a box of Widowmakers and as Brad has some I'll be able to give them a go.
