For the forseeable future, blood bowl players at Movie Nights can use their old teams, make new ones or run multiple teams (often a good idea). I for one am thinking about giving Vampires a proper go in the future, I've just order Count Luthor and a fantasy vampire from Milsims to flesh out my team. I've also had a lot of fun using Orcs and Dwarves playing online with the Cyanide PC version of bloodbowl, but I think I'll give the Dwarves a rest, since I'm thinking of taking a dwarf team into Southern Shrike Bowl (August 21& 22, just a couple of km up the road from Movie Nights. If anyone wants to borrow my minis to use in a game I have: highelves, darkelves, woodelves, human, skaven, chaos, dwarves, undead, halflings (no treemen yet) vamps probably other stuff I'm forgetting. So what races are you interested in trying out?

I am thinking of going humans as they really are not too different to Orcs. It will allow me to play something similar yet different.
I do not think I have what it takes to try out a truely agile team. Humans will allow me to have a bit of a running passing game (more so than my Orcs) while still having decent strength stats.

Ash ,
I think you need to play an agile team, I have found playing 2 different styles of team helps with your developement as a player. I think you will get frustrated with the humans as, they are not Orks so can not hit as well, but they are not agile like Skaven & Elves. Not that I am an expert.

humans would be a good idea if you want to ease yourself into a more ball oriented team, an ogre, 4 blitzers a couple of throwers and just one or two catchers to come on when you are receiving the kickoff. They aren't as agile as elves, but they do have access to 4 catchers, which are movement 8 with dodge and catch, and unlike all the elves they can have a big guy to help out on the line of scrimmage.
FTR Ash played me using Highelves a few weeks ago and scored against me twice!!

I'll most definitely be doing a human Bloodbowl team. I'll also most likely buy the GW human team. sure they might be $105 but they are fairly decent sculpts and means I just need to paint them up and I am good to go!

My next team will definately will be Necromantic, I just will need to proxy the mini's until such time as I can put in an order. I hope no one will complain about the proxy idea.

I'm finding the Vampires infuriating, though I hope to improve when they get some skills, more thralls and more rerolls so I'm pretty sure I'll stick with them for the short term. Though any player who hasn't played blood bowl before can expect to play me with a halfling team in their first game!

time to resurect this thread as the current 'season' is winding up in the next couple of weeks. We will have a month or so of preseason games for people to try new teams if htey so desire. Then we will start a more regimented structure- so start thinking about your next team. You can keep your current team, but NAF officials are onto our league necromancers, and all of our special zombie players will fall apart in a couple of weeks time....
The new league will be held in a college town where they really love blood bowl, infact its a college of magic town and some of the local teams have even been known to feature players who are acolytes in the local sorcery schools...

I will be running the BCM's for the next season as they are a second season team. It has taken 11 games not including the semis and the finals (hopefully) to get them to a competitive state, with skills on a few. I will need to concentrate on not using the same characters to score. It's just hard when you don't trust the marauder to make the double dodge roll to run to the TD line. Where the elf just makes it look easy. I am afraid that soon with the large bounty on his head that he may take a fall. ($100,000 thanks to Ash)

Well I assume the bounty will only be there till the start of next season as I will not be using the Marauders again. It's all Goblins from then!

I will most probably be playing Orks, as they are half completed modeling wise and I know how to paint them quickly enough to a level I am happy with. Made an order to Rolljordan and Maelstrom for my Necro but as the season will be close to under way by the time that is ready for the pitch. Or I will take the Lizards.
Tough choices. Really want to play with a finished painted and based team.

it would be great to see you using a finished team, reach for the stars!
I'm having fun converting up my spare chaos warriors, I was just looking at the nurgle team roster- it looks like quite a challenge, looks like one of the hardest teams out there to use- but very flavourful.

I havne't decided yet, but yes I think Ash is right it will continue in some form, though perhaps at reduced total.
Having almost painted my DElves now I am itching to get them out on the pitch, I'll either use DE as my primary team with Halflings for alternate games, or visa versa. I'll have a few games with the two teams in preaseason and see which one I feel like using the most.

Drew - Chaos Pact Ash - Goblins Alex - Dark Elves or Halflings Meg - Dwarves??? Brad - Maybe High Elves??? Shippy - Skaven ?? Darren - Orks - Time to lay the smack down.
if that is the way it pans out it seems like a fairly good spread of different play styles and traits to contend with.
Bring on Wednesday night and the finals games

This is looking quite fun already. If I run a second team it will be a Goblin Team including two Trolls. My main team will be pure goblins... nothing more. I shall use my wits and abilities in order to provide the same level of victories and supreme tactical gameplay that you have all come to know from me.

ALthough I would love to get these DE minis on the field I think I'll have to go with the flings as my main team- that way I'll be able to afford quite a few magic users!
