Retiring "The Pig"

So, the F-111, Australia's long serving strike / Reconnaissance jet is being retired at the end of the year Affectionatly called a "Pig", it's current tail flash is 'Borus'



Someone decided to have a miniature commissioned to commemorate the retiring of the aircraft. Thought I'd share the pics floating around work.







Sculpted by Vic Lamb, 'Borus' is about 12cm high, 8 long. I Expect more pics as others get casts of it and do their own thing. There's already talk of mounting warbosses on him, and rumour of a Rhino with bat wings (Rhino being the nickname of the new FA/18), and even a diorama with Borus doing unspeakable things to the Rhino...

No it's more akin to having the song 'Pretty fly for a white guy' played over and over again on the radio... or any song for that matter. Unfortunately that song was never posted on a publicly accessible website where a disgruntled citizen could give the Offspring '1's for their work....

These are ours. All pics Alexander McCreath. I've resized them for the net. I also notice they all have only the boomerang on their tail, not the boar as well... I thought it was part of their tail flash <shrug>

Bottom pic is with the newly arrived Super Hornet replacement. Sorry it's so long, really didn't want to shrink it too much - it's already an injustice to the pics to reduce them as much as I have, this guy takes great photos!
