With the light hearted frivolity of the opening week's games now behind us a coach's attention naturally turns to building his team for the upcoming season.
With this in mind don't forget to get your miniatures in shape for the upcoming season too, if you play a game this week (starting from the 8th sept) each of your players who is adequately painted gains one free SPP!
The following will qualify the miniature as being 'fully painted' for these purposes.
Number The model needs to be clearly identified by a number on the front and back, e.g. a number on the shoulder-pad and the back of the base
Flesh and Hair Must have an appropriate colour on it, eyes and other details are not required.
Armour / uniforms / clothing Needs to sport the team colours, a minimum of two colours is needed to qualify, such as a base colour and a highlight or a wash or ink used over the base colour. Having team colour of black does NOT qualify (unless painted with multiple shades of grey etc), this ruling is to reward coaches who paint their teams, not lazy ones!
Details Belts, pouchs, chainmail etc needs an appropriate colour on it, such as leather or chainmal silver
Base Requires paint and flock, or some alternate condition into which has gone at least a small amount of effort.
get your models and get painting!

It's a true fact that painted models roll sixes more often.

For people who are planning on coming along on wednesday, feel free to state so here and start shopping around for an opponent. This is not necessary, but please feel free to organise games before hand if you wish.
As I mentioned elsewhere just now, for those who may be worried about excessive or key casualties in your games this week please note that the preseason time is a free and loose time when teams can be scrapped and rebuilt for any reason, you are not bound to the team you used this week. The primary purpose of the few preseason games is to let everyone have a chance to try out a few races or roster configurations before playing games that count. It also gives you the chance to try to skill up a couple of players with the much needed roles for your team (sure hands on a beastman springs to mind for chaos for example).
ALso if you already know what team configuration you'll be using when we start in a couple of weeks time then feel free to get out a second team and play a couple of games for fun, why not give the magic rules a try?

I will be there to officiate games, and possibly roll some dice if I'm not too shagged. I actually should be there approximately on time.
Bring your organiser/diary so we can choose a date for the DUngeon bowl tournament in Jan/Feb!
cu there!

Well my team is now based and ready to go. All I have to do now is get them numbered but I need my roster to imagine who was numbered what. I'll be able to do that early tomorrow night.
Is it okay to not number the pads but rather the front and back of the base? I only ask as my freehanding numbers sucks squigs...

Nobody will be upset by that. Bases are fine, a lot of models don't even have pads.

Get those skill-ups happening people!
