Clash of the Titans 2010
This is just a place holder for the final tournament of the year; Clash of the Titans!

The idea of this tournament is to make those named characters the focus. This event WILL BE BROKEN. There is no real hope for balance. Once again we at Greenacre Gamers are putting the fun of the game forward and be damned with the consequences of our actions.

In this tournament everyone must take a named HQ (special character) that named character may be given a bodyguard unit in the form of your codices bodyguard squad (honor guard, tyrant guard etc) or a unit entry from your codices Elites choice. If taken from your elites choice the model count for that squad will have a maximum of ten.

Your named HQ (and the bodyguard squad if the HQ is attached) will count as a scoring unit alongside your Troops.

The points limit will be 1800pts and will use the usual force organization chart.

You can not take more than one named HQ but other named characters are allowed (named squad upgrades etc)

Missions will be fairly standard fair but with plenty of bonus points up for grabs when your named HQ claims an objective, when you slay your opponents named HQ and the biggest points boost of all; when your named HQ kills your opponents named HQ. There will be parts to missions that only your named HQ and Retinue can achieve, certain take and holds etc.

Price will be $15 and as usual everyone will get a dogtag with the top 3 getting the usual colored silencers.

This event will take place on the 11th of December.
Places limited to 10 (6 have already been spoken for).
Games to be played on standard 6x4 tables.
The day will start at 11am and go through till late.
Out of towners welcome to pitch a tent in my yard for the Friday night and we are going all night at Movie nights Saturday(I know the Mt Gambians and Penolans will be there)
Will only be a typical 3 game affair but with a fourth and final round being an all in brawl with you just using your characters and their bodyguards. How broken is that?
(the all in brawl will essentially be a separate entity and will not count towards the tournament proper... but may be used as a tie breaker should one occur.)

Oh nearly forgot the best part...
The first round will be open to grudge matches. One is already formed pitting Ghazghkull Thraka against Commissar Yarrick. I wonder what other interesting mash ups we will see?

Have been in discussions with the resident Beer merchant and looks like we could be getting FREE BEER FOR ALL (well I'll be buying it but it's the last event of the year!)

So could mean some awesome during and post touarnament shenanigans!

Yep, it was a great day of brewing brew and drinking drink.
Clash of the Titans 2010 is looking set to be a great event.

I am going to have to start locking in participants so that I can go ahead and order the required number of Dogtags.

Tags are ordered and paid for, beer is brewing, accomodation is sorted, missions are finalised, my WAAAAGH is prepared. Now just to wait and KILL YOU ALL!

I'm assuming that WYSIWYG will not be strickly enforced, I tend not to do honour guards etc in my normal armies, so my bodyguard squad and named dude won't be appropriately armed (but the whole army willbe fully painted of course!).

I never strictly adhere to wysiwig. As long as the unit you proxy is clearly definable from other units ie. you dont have 8 tacticle squads in your army and have one of them used as your terminators.

cool, I have one squad that looks different from all the others, beakie helmets, bolt pistols and chainswords, list is all sorted, bring it on!

Now, if your named HQ dude doesn't have an HQ bodyguard or an elite unit to join, can he join a troop/fast/heavy unit?

codices is the plural of codex, not the possessive form, you mean

He will remain scoring if he is attached to a troops choice (that counts as scoring) but if he joins a non scoring unit he will lose his scoring ability.

fermentation, diacetyle rest, lagering and filtration have all been completed.
It is awaiting kegging, which I will do tomorrow.

brew has been kegged and carbonated!

I poured a schooner this arvo, 'tis a lovely dry bitter pale ale, but to make it a better overall beer I've mixed it with a 1/4 of my India Pale ale, my standard recipe. This has softened the bitterness (dropped probably from about 60IBUs to 45), as well as introducing a bit more smooth malt character and more ABV.
