damn, I really did get smacked. -9, there is no recovery from that. oh and I should explain: 10 points for a win 4 points for a draw add TD dif add Cas dif. so to recover a nice win would help, 10 points plus your TD and Cas dif, 2 wins and you'd be back in black |

please note that the new scoring system is a change from the last few seasons which have given 50 for a win and 10? for a draw.
Paul explained some reason why some other system was better for some reason, I nodded alot and pretended to be listening, and then decided to try this system.

wildcards:
top ranked player earns wildcard 1
(regardless of how few games the player has played)
the player who has played the most games earns wildcard 2.
(ties decided at whimsy of commish)
round 1
game a)
team ranked 2
vs
team ranked 3
game b)
team ranked 4
vs
wildcard 2
round 2
winner game b)
vs
wildcard 1
grand final
winner game a)
vs
winner round 2.
if a player earns multiple entries he or she can choose which spot to take.
(e.g. if you finished 2nd and played more games than anyone else you could take wildcard 2 or rank 2 spot.)

please note that the new system allows some nefarious outsider to come in, play a game against some poor sap, beat the living snot out of them, and claim the most powerful playoff position!
However, given that we currently play at a secret, rather than public, location I think we are reasonably safe.

Interesting current playoff position. Currently I am Wildcard 1 as top of the league and wild card 2 as have played the most games...
This means in round one I get to play the player in fourth (currently James) and then in round 2 I get to play against the winner of my last round, so potentially player 4 or MYSELF!
Looks like I continue to mess with Alex's carefully crafted league!

wilcard 1 goes straight through to the second round without having to play, and then just needs to win that game to get into the playoffs, so you'd have to be a bit of a masochist to take wildcard 2 over wildcard 1, lol

Note, a coach needs 5 games in the season to qualify for non-wildcard playoff places.
