This Monday Public Holiday (10th 3rd) we will be haloding a massive game of Fantasy Battle!
We have amassed a massive 8000pts of Greenskins (607 models!!!) Everything is in there (well just about)
We are looking for opponents to halt the tidal might of Waaaagh Decka! All you need to do is come along to the Dice and Deck with a fantasy army. Have a list written up (try for about 1500-2000pts.)
The list will include the usual minimum/maximums for the points value of the army taken.
So come on down and take part in a battle that will go down in history!
Game starts at around 12-1pm and will go for about 4-5 hours...

Waaaagh Decka was successfully halted by the combined arms of the Woodelve, Lizardmen, Dwarf and Empire Alliance. Everyone of these races had a good reason to defend the lands of men.
With 10000 points a side and played over a 20ft long table the battle was a site to behold. No less than 4 giants trned up in order to help Waaaagh Decka (and their tombking allies) smash apart their foes in order to pave the way for mass havok.
But in the end the victory had to go to someone and was much well earnt by the forces of good. Congratulations to Steve c, Steve H, Daniel Lacey, Stanley G and Mitchel R for holding back the green tide.
But all is not lost for the greenskins. Another Waaaagh is gathering.
And it will be bigger than the last.....

hey, what do you all think of this?
as Jacob and i waited for the extended orc/gobbo/tombking mag phase, the wood elf ammassed fire power adn teh empire cc phases we thought mab do all the armies 2000 pt one on one. after teh end of each round, the winning team is recorded, and each side gets to use whatever troops it has remaining and join another player from their team. so casualties are carried over, keeping teh armies a bit smaller, but more and more players boost numbers. kind of the waaah comming together and the allied forces drawing together with the remains of their defences till a last big waah. you copuld even do when your army wins you get X amounts of points to reinforce your depleted army and if you lose you get a smaller amount or summin. sound gd or stupid?

The idea is sound but kind of defeats the purpose of the idea. Im trying to get people playing the game faster and using team work as it will be a huge thing in the upcoming campaign. Basically if people found it a little slow then that was their own fault of not having a balanced army that fielded a bit of everything. In these types of game its imperetive that everyone can do a bit of rolling in each phase otherwise they will get bored.
Also remember that an event like this needs to be done either in one day or over two and if people need to wait for someone elses game to finish (or turn to finish) before play can continue then the same thing will happen again. Make the most of each phase and stay involved.
Multi table games are something that is in the stores future especially in regards to Apocalypse but more on that later....
As for photos... Well the store needs to get a decent camera and then we will be taking loads of photos. Does anyone have a half decent digicam that they are willing to either lend the store for an extended period of time or better yet donate? It would be great to have something on hand.

i have an rather over priced digital camera that can be used whenever there is need for it if you want, but i cant sell or donate it, it just cost to much!
the 10k battle was a bit on the unbalanced side as i,m willing to admit my army was a typical army list for the army that i fielded and not every other player got to properly establish an army that would be effective against who they were facing, as they had no idea who it would be.
where as my list was designed to either be able to face-off against most other armies but if i ever had to i could just flee 18" away from who ever was trying to break my lines, but also to assassinate characters and command groups.
