Wondering about High Elves

So have been wondering about getting a High Elf team but I don't like the GW team.

They just seem to static for agile team.

So been looking into other elf teams. I had liked the Black Scorpion figures until I saw them at Shrike bowl www.comixininos.com/index.php/miniaturas-por-equipos/altos-elfos/high-elves-humans-high-elves-human-team-of-11-players-black-scorpion.html which put me back on the drawing board.

Most of the other elf teams that I've seen have been female models and while the Greebo Alyon team looks pretty and have much move movement, they are still not what I'm after. The Neomics elves are good but more Pro than High

So I'm obviously getting picky with this High Elf idea and start looking around the web. There are quite a few people who've done High Elf conversions using plastic high elves including these using fantasy elves www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=278618
and these using Warhammer 40K Eldar www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/30/258018.page (WARNING halfway down the page!) To top it off the new Dark Eldar Wyches are amazing models and might convert well once you remove all the spikes.

So If anybody has some more ideas or suggestions I'm interested to hear them. Currently thinking to have these together in time for ADBC if I start planning now

the pro elves by GW are good sculpts, but they are 25mm, ie non exagerated so they do look a little weak next to some teams, but they are about the same bulk as some of the other options, like shadowforge.

the more 'dynamic' a team becomes with poses, the harder it becomes to determine positionals and to lay them prone and stunned.
For this reason I will always remain a huge fan of the 3rd edition models, including the Highelves, Orcs, Darkelves, Woodies, Dwarves, Chaos, CDwarves and Undead.

I'd found Hoards 'O Bits online through eBay (also has a new dedicated site) and got all my Underworld team from them. I'd kitbash them together just from the fantasy army.

That's a good point. The linemen will be standing but I'll make the catchers as running, the blizters more aggressive and the thrower, well throwing.

Just had a quick look, I think you could make a fairly good go of it. I'd go Archers for the catchers, nip the feather of the heads though. The 2 that go with the Bolt Thrower would make good Throwers, prob go with Archer heads. Spearmen for the Linemen, might have to fiddle around with the arms to get a better look. Definitely use White Lions as Blitzers. I think using those figures would have a uniformed look. Pointy helmets on the linemen and blitzers and head bands for throwers and catchers.

Only issue there is that the 'classic' High Elf team had White Lions as Catchers, but I never agreed with that anyway. White Lions (in WHFB) are supposed to be the strong, rugged mountaineeer types.

I thought the White Lions were the Blitzers?

lions are the catchers

That's pretty much the idea I had after looking though the Hoard O Bits site. I was wondering about using the Charioteer legs on the throwers and scout legs on the catchers. I'll start making a proper list soon and get them ordered.
