Maybe someone remembers an old game for MS-DOS called Scorched Earth , which some respected people consider to be almost the ancestor of all other computer games. I remember, but to be honest - I remember it rather vaguely. I saw a computer science teacher playing it a few times .
So, it turns out that these days there is a 3D game with great graphics - S corched3D , which is very reminiscent (right down to the name) of that prehistoric toy.
Although of course there are differences. Firstly, it is a shopify website design completely free game (Scorched Earth was shareware), secondly, it is completely free, and thirdly, it is completely multi-platform ( Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS X, Solaris, etc.). And of course, if the game title contains the abbreviation 3D, the game is three-dimensional and very beautiful.
At the most superficial glance, Scorched 3D is a simple game with two (or more) tanks shooting one at another in turns. The game takes place in a limited area (a training ground). The main skill here is to accurately set the angle, direction and power of the shot, and then shoot in time and try to hit the enemy.
But the game Scorched 3D is not only a competition in the eye. This game can be much more interesting when you look at it as a strategy. For a successful battle in the game you can earn money (virtual of course ) and use it to purchase additional weapons, means of protection and fuel (with the help of some types of weapons you can move. And there is plenty to choose from - a variety of missiles, bombs, lasers, shields ... In a word - a pacifist's dream
Quite a few locations (polygons) have been created for the game - from cheerful and quite realistic to rather gloomy and fantastic.
Although playing with artificial intelligence is quite interesting, it is certainly much more interesting to play with real people. I did not say that with the help of standard Scorched 3D it is quite easy to connect to one of the many online servers to play Scorched 3D. On some of them you can play up to 24 players (both real people and bots). But keep in mind - it is better to practice a little offline first.
