The Dice and Deck Presents:
June Snow blind!
A painting competition is being held so get out your paints and brushes and get painting!
There will be 3 categories this time round:
Category 1: Standard
Any model that can be reasonably presented on one of the following base sizes
Terminator for 40K, 'large infantry' for Fantasy (orc sized) or infantry for Lord of the Rings.
Any model from any range/manufacturer can be entered as long as it fits into the aforementioned base size. Any questions about the miniature you are wanting to enter can be addressed to Ash at The Dice and Deck. Just a note about the reasonable basing of miniatures for this category: Night Bringers and Deceivers will not be allowed into this category even though they fit the base size limit. Thats one example.
Category 2: Large Model
Any other model that comes with a base or can be reasonably placed onto a base measuring no more than large monster base, Dragon base or chariot base.
Once again any questions about these restrictions to be forwarded to Ash. There are other base sizes that can fall in this categories, if you would like to query a different base just let Ash know.
Category 3: Scene
All entries to be presented on a base size measuring no more than 300mm across, 150mm deep and 200mm high.
This can be just about anything. No theme required but it does go a way to help unify the scene.
Category 4: (As yet unnamed)
All entries to be painted by and enrolled by juniors aged 15 and under.
The entries must fit into the Category 1 guidelines.
Dates of Importance:
* Registration, fees to be paid and models to be in store by Sun 15th June
* Judging held by public ballot over the period 16th - 20th of June
* Prizes handed out Fri 20th June
Entry fee: $8 per entry or $20 for one entry into each category, Only one entry per person into each category
Participation will earn 10 award points for the first entry and an additional 5 per entry after (up to a maximum of 3 entries). A finish in top 3 will earn a bonus point. (Members Only)
Voting will be via poll slip with public awarding points out of 10 for the miniature (25% of score) Ash will also vote (75% of score). The miniatures will have an I.D. number allotted to them so the entries will be anonymous to those voting.
Participants will be eligible to vote on all bar their own entry.
If you are interested in participating, any queries then let Ash know via the following:
