There are so many systems out there and dozens if not hundreds of armies to go with them. There are reasons why we all dont have what we would like. These reasons could be monetary related, or your too busy with other projects. Maybe you dont collect/own it because its part of a system where opponents are not readily available in your area.
Well just because you dont own it yet does not mean its not eventually a possibility. Besides you can always dream of it.
In the meantime spill your guts, let us know what your all time dream army (or armies) is and why it is so.

And why would you say orcs? What reason is it that they are just a dream at the moment; why have you not collected them yet? What could you do to make that dream a possibility?

My dream armies (yes armies) would be a massive Tyranid and Guard army.
Since I first saw Starship Troopers I have always wanted to collect the models that would be needed to recreate some of the battles in that movie. The first landing on the bugs planet, the siege, and of course the capturing of the brain... These could be done in games of 40k, Apocalypse for the seige and some games of Kill Team for the smaller skirmish type capturing the brain.
Look at what the guard have and whats in the movie, Commisars, heavy weapons teams (the nuke launchers) the landing craft (forge world does something very similar) and lots and lots of guard...
The tyranids would not really look like their movie counterparts, however all the staples are their... Hormogaunts, Carnifex, Biovores, Gargoyles etc... even ripper swarms can be used to represent the smaller scarab type bugs...
And the brain bug? Hive Tyrant obviously..
I would still take it further, Heirophant Bio titan, Scythed Heirodule.... So much could be added...
And ofcourse there would need to be scenery to match. We already have a desert table to fight over all we need is a besieged outpost and we would be set for some absolutely awesome Apocalypse Games...
But why is this just a dream? Simple... finances... all that stuff would cost waaaaay too much. However I am thinking of going nids for my next 40k army (once ive finished doing whatever I am doing with my angels...) It will be a large force. That provides one half of my dream and since there are a plethora of guard armies out there we may just see those games happening yet!

my dream army would vikings but since some git denied me of my vikings i will have to make an army of dwarfs that will destroy all inculding this forum. then it will create a better one and it will then invade tasmania. it will then be called 40k viking world. i will be president and there will be no orcs allowed

Get some chaos marauders, they look like vikings... as do some of the Rohan figures in the Lord of the Rings range.

Since im doing some pretty scungy, dirty looking armies, my dream army is something a bit more colourful and beautiful. Maybe lizardmen or woodelves. lizardmen arent that beautiful but your choice of realy nice, bight, vibrant colours is more open than with my pirate zombies and my planed colour scheme for my nurgle are also muted colors.
And as far as beauty goes i love the woodelves, they have a nice natural look.
the reason neither of these are likely to come to be is my mind is kinda hard wired for the darker side of things. an as my pirate zombies are fairly time consuming (it take a lot of time to give them all an individual personality but still making sure they rank up with eachother) i dont think its likely ill get either army soon...........that and my wooden necrons.

for a colourful army CJ you can't go past Brettonians. When i get board with an army I pick up a few knights and some bright paints like sunburst yellow or flaming orange and paint some bright knights. I've got a decent amount now, but not enough for an army, maybe 500 points would work.
I'd love to have a unique army that would be fun to use and really challenging. I'd like to try using warpspiders one day, but the miniatures are so old, and fairly lame, and their weapon doens't seem like the kind of thing to base an army around.
Had an idea for a highelf army that was all cavalry and chariots, but never got round to it. Could go this way witht he affore mentioned Brettonians I suppose. It'd be cool to have lots of light missile cavalry, anyone who's played Medieval Total War as an african or eastern european race knows what I'm talking about.

Seriously tho', my dream army would be a full Guard army... By full, I mean several thousand men, n' several hundred vehicles and transport.
