The Assault on Black Reach White Dwarf Miniature Painting Competition has finished and the winner has been decided.
We had a few entries both from Renmark and Mildura (but not anywhere near enough Orc Nob entries shame on you all!) and it was not an easy decision determining the winner.
What Scott and I were both looking for was a nicely rounded out miniature; painting, basing, composition of color, modeling were all taken into account (ie not necessarily the best painted model won)
In the end there could only be one winner and that winner is Wade Foster from Mildura who has got himself a brand spanking new copy of Assault on Black Reach!
This entry was selected as the painting quality was fairly high with a nice and simple base (hard to tell due to reflection due to the gloss varnish). Some stand out elements were the Crux Terminatus which had some nice black lining to make it pop out from the surrounding armor and the freehand Blood Ravens insignia.
A nicely done job indeed.
Not everyone will agree on who we chose as the winner as our tastes and preferences might not match your own so now you can vote between the top 5 finalists and have your say about the finalists shown below!
