Thinking of running a doubles tournement in late december/january. 1500pts a player and running for 1 or 2 days depending on interest. There would be awards for best painted mini fielded, best looking squad, and most creative backstory made to explain the alliance between the 2 armies in your team. Entry fees would be $15 - $20 and open to all. Any input or suggestions? What do you guys think

Maybe a few teams from the dice and deck could roll on up there if the invite is open? No battle points prizes? Thats fair enough as this could be more of a friendly tourny focused more on teaming up, fluff and minis. Do you have many tables?

Another question... Will it be similar to Jagged Alliance where your team splits up on to different tables to play games one on one or will the teams play another team on one table... two on two?
I am assuming on the size its one on one. I have plans for a two on two tournament where each player brings 1000pts which could be interesting down the track...

Well atm, we have... no tables lol But im looking at improving some and we have some scenery that different people own. I was thinking of dropping the point value down to 1000pts a player or even 750. Teams would play at once, so it would involve teamwork to take down the enemy. There would ofcourse be a prize for the winner, however it was determined. I was thinking either a pyramid thing like the footy. Ofcourse the guys from dice and deck are welcome, this is completely open. If theres enough interest ill try and figure out a date and probably get the hall in town, which is better looking/equipped and more room if needed. Ill have an RSVP though to make sure we get the right numbers.

Ill go in on monday/tuesday and look at dates. Probably go with something in mid january, that way people can have a chance to add their christmas mini's to the mix. The main reason behind dropping it to 1000/750 is to make the games quicker and the tournement more accessible to the locals who are yet to build up a decent army size. The main problem we'll have is that we dont exactly have tons of tables or scenery. The hall itself has some good tables we can use, and i spose i can get some cheap table cloths/felt to chuck over it. Will just be getting some buildings etc.

The best tables are just 6x4 boards painted green, grey, black or brown whatever colour you need real simple and look good terrain is another matter it is so hard to get good terrain.

Yeah, Ill measure the tables at the hall im loooking at (not the koorlong hall where club meets currently are) and worst comes to worst we can get plain green table clothes or felt from spotlight etc. and fasten them over this time, but im gunna get in contact with my uncle at a timber place and find out if we can get some 6x4 boards, or even smaller ones we can put pegs in to slot together. Im gunna try and get myself an imperial sector box, and blacktemplar has one already. and try get the guys involved making some terrain between now and then now that theyve got stuff painted. Something i was thinking of today just to make things more interesting was having the tables changed between each match, and then eatch game getting allocated to a random table so players wont be able to get used to the same layout. Then when each table is revealed, teams get a certain amount of time (5mins or so) to discuss deployment/strategy, after that they can speak to each other for the rest of the game apart from the normal game stuff. But then this will be more time consuming so i dont know =/

If someone over there has access to a ute, I've got around 10-14 table tops in my garage you can borrow.
So, Ash... Team mates?

Well i know of 1 ute, and my parents have a trailer and a car they dont have to pay for fuel for. mum goes up to renmark every couple of weeks so just before the tourney i could probably convince her to take the trailer. Id still like to get a couple done for down here. And the number we'll need is all dependent on interest. The main thing we'll need is scenery. Might even switch the best squad prize to be best peice of custom scenery. That way if everyone brings a custom peice theyve made, it will fill up quickly. We can also rate how good the peice is on both looks and how practical it is in game.

you missed Chaos Daemons Look in the Apocalypse Rulebook Page 198. It not only tells you who can ally together but also how strong the partnership is from strong allies down to Hated Enemies. This will loosen up the otherwise strict allies chart which will allow for more interesting partnerships and a really fun gaming experience.
