And if you plan with your team mate he could take the fast attack stuff and you take elites of heavys ect...
The more you plan the better you will be.

Lol he may be joined soon. Im becoming enthralled with the new Warrios of Chaos stuff.. cant wait for my online order to arrive so i can put together some Chaos Knights and Marauder Horsemen. Gunna get a small force done on the side when things quiet down with tale of gamers (ie. when im not trying to get 20 marines painted in a week and failing miserable). That Chaos Lord on Juggernaught is just too sexy.

So what will be happening mission wise? Straight out of the book or will you be looking to convert some previous ed missions? (One thing on this.... do not use the kill points system. It does not work)

I don't so much mind the new set up rules personally. One player sets up their army first then the other player. The person who sets up first gets the first turn unless the other player rolls a six.....
I hate the steal the initiative rule. I think its that that breaks the new set up. But setting up like the previous ed is all good too.
Its the missions that suck balls.
Any mission that has a capture and hold element (capturing tokens etc) should always have a odd number of objectives. This will limit the number of draws. I mean that mission that has you each having one objective.... what a load of bull!
Kill points are also broken... Guard armies are completely screwed over by that one and there is no way to fix it short of throwing out the idea all together.

Well there is nothing wrong with the old VP system so why not use that. I love the new rules well most but some of the other ones were/are better.

Simply use the old missions and set up rules but still make it so troops are still more important than the other choices in regards to holding objectives etc.

Yeah it really does make armies more as they should be: Heavy on the grunts supported by small amounts of elite stuff.
I think you now have your scenarios sorted Dodo!

Indeedy. Im still tossing around ideas in my head about the team organisation. At the moment im wondering whether to make it each team has 1500pts to spend between them, and both armies must have 1 hq and 2 troops, but the rest of the points can be spent however they wish.

I would probably stick with what you were doing, a certain points total each with a minimum 1 HQ and 2 Troops each. Just bump it up to 900pt each...

you can easily play a 1800pt game in under 2 hours when you have had the practice at speed gaming. But probably leave it at the points you decided on till everyone can play at that speed.
