Its been a while coming but here it is.
The Dice and Deck presents
WINDS OF MAGIC
This event will be a 2200pt Warhammer Fantasy Battles Tournament which will be held at the Dice and Deck over the weekend of Saturday 14-Sunday 15th February.
Entry will be $15 (members receive a 10% discount)
Games will begin 10:30am both days.
There will be 3 games on Saturday and 2 on Sunday with all games having a 2.5 hour time limit.
Army list restrictions are as per the individual Warhammer Armies books. All armies must be chosen from the most up to date Armies book. Special Characters ARE allowed.
Now for the 'Gimick'...
We have chosen Winds of Magic as this time round we want magic to be a little more prevalent and this is how it works:
When casting spells this will be the method:
Spell Caster chooses his spell, target etc
Spell Caster rolls his chosen amount of dice in which to cast his spell.
If the spell is successful then his opponent may choose to dispel either through a scroll etc or with dispel dice.
If a scroll is used the spell it dispelled and that's it but if dice are used and successful then you may try to 'power up your spell'
To 'power up' you may roll more dice to add to your casting result effectively increasing your chance to get the spell off (this can be risky because if you had already rolled a '1' in your original cast then rolling another '1' will cause you to miscast. However this dice roll CAN NOT cause Irresistible Force.)
Your opponent may then roll an extra dice to try to Dispel it but can not use a scroll at this stage.
The total dice a spell caster can use can not exceed his maximum casting dice.
As you can see this makes magic a little more dynamic and spell casters more important to the game hence the title of this tournament :Winds of Magic
Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd places, Best Sports and best painted army. Best painted army will be judged on the usual hero/lord of your choice, 1 core and 1 other unit of your choice.
These will be in the form of Vouchers which can be spent at the Dice and Deck.
Let me know if you have any questions.
