As the title suggests, I have been sculpting. A rare occurrence this year, due to uni so this is a special occasion. Felt I might get some done in the week or so I’ve got between now and when I start working.
Not only that but it’s been a proper attempt too. It’s all from scratch. I decided to do a few modern age zombies and see where I ended up.
The zombies I have chosen to make were a male construction worker zombie and a female jogger zombie.
Anyway, here is where I started.
I made all my own dollies with the wire. Bending them in to the correct shapes was easy enough. Where I ran into trouble was with connecting the individual pieces of wire to build the frame. Hot putty is great but even then it takes forever to get strong enough to start adding anything onto the frame. I'm thinking next time Ill use a soldering iron.
For now I'll just put up the construction worker zombie.
To begin the dolly, I began adding anatomical landmarks to the frame. i.e feet, knees, hips, head and shoulders. From here I let it set, then began to flesh out the rest of the body. Here is what it looked like.
Onto this I added basic muscle groups, the face and any other detail I wanted to be under the clothes. The face of the construction worker zombie was tricky. common sense tells you to make it all line up and look nice, but the whole aim is to make him look messed up (normally quite good at this but hadn’t had to do it from scratch before).

Please ignore the groin area
Finished up by adding some tattered clothes in the last smooth layer and a skeletal right arm and it was all set.
