Yep, looks like from now on Sunday will be the official meet up day to play Magic.
The club starts from 11am through to 5pm.
Bring your decks, any format will do except for those pesky infinite combos. There will be planned events in the future and theme days so keep your eyes open!

May i suggest a limited ban on infinate combos such as we have down here. Basically if a combo is uncontrollably infinite its banned. Otherwise theyre fair go... PROVIDING you sit down and count it out. Ie. you cant just say "i use my infinate combo to pump out 10,000 elves" you have to sit down and count out that many things to represent the tokens. If you're going to be running official DCI stuff, the standard deck format as it stands only allows decks to be constructed from as far back as 10th ed. with no limited or banned cards. however i believe that will change with the new set being released this week, so it will then be the one after 10th ed. Ill definately try and make it up for a few games some time, finally managed to make a few decent decks. Will you guys be offering DCI membership and point recording any time soon?

I think we have magic covered. Most of us have been playing for quite a while. We understand the standard tournament rulings.
This is just for laughs magic at the moment. Friendly stuff... No standard DCI stuff yet. when we do a tournament we do different things, most commonly standard tier 2 but sometimes we play broken decks (anything goes except those unlimited combos) Multi color (every one must have a 2 color or more deck), Assassination (Everyones name is put in a hat and you are allocated a random person as your target who you must kill before you kill anyone else...) We even have a strange dual board we sometimes bring out.... sort of a board game and magic combo.... there are many more varients besides tier 2 standard and we explore them all.
Now that Jacob is in charge and he is a magic fiend I am sure there will be many more interesting ideas coming out.
As for DCI.. Jacob has begun the exams.

lol i dont think you need to be qualified as a DCI judge to run the events. The tourneys down here are relaxed aswell, we just had one a few weeks ago on the easter friday. A booster draft, followed by a "classic extended deck" or something like that which basically meant anything goes. The DCI stuff is just so if you show up and play at any organised thing you get recorded and then every few months they send you free shit. or so my understanding is. Variants are awsome, and that colour one is going to become pretty easy with the new set since EVERYTHING is multi-colour, got to have a look at a bunch of the new cards and theres alot of nasty shit in there, and a few things that specifically inhibit mono-colour decks (one card which theres also a visual spoiler for makes each player sacrifice a mono colour creature during their upkeep if they have any). A fun one we've played down here is emperor. You guys heard of it?
