I think its about time we had another tournament... but obviously, im not the person who runs them nor can i do anything other then suggest them... i would prefer this to happen within the next month... but once again i cant set dates etc. so any one interested please respond on this post so that if people want one, i can talk to Steve and Jacob about it. Some of the "rules" i think should be put in place for the possible tournament are as follows: No restrictions on cards (as in the past the tournaments cards have been restricted to the past 3 or 4 series of released cards) as some people cant afford to buy more cards and after all the tourny should be to encourage and promote the game/store. (obviously this doesnt mean people can use fakes just not restricted to the series of card used) For a change i think that this should be a 2v2 tourny, as there have been none in the past, that i am aware of, and then if it is a success the store can do more in the future. If it is 2v2 then there should be a shared life total i think, as you enter as a team, it should be the best team not the best player, and then players can have decks that compliment there partners deck etc. So once again if you are interested please post replies, and if there are any changes you want made to this POSSIBLE tournament please post them as well, and remember the more people that are interested the more chance there is of it occuring. i am going to see steve and/or jacob about this sometime within the next week for more details as to whether this can happen at all. as i'm not aware that there has ever been a suggestion for a team tournament, it would be a good idea with a few limitations to it, they are normally standard tier 2 decks only
it should be;
-open decks,
-no banned combo's,
-80-100 card decks only,
-the team shares the life total of40,
-and each team has they're turn at the same time as they're partner.
and yes, i would definately be in a tournament so i'll talk to jacob and we'll see.

So in otherwords, you just run a 2-headed giant tournement....
Also 80 card is retarded, I say stick to 60+ with 15card side board.
Open deck tourneys are all well and good, but from my experience newer players feel left out, having only been around for a little while thus not having alot of the old filth cards that more experienced players have. Its fine if the entire group has been doing it for a while but if half are newbies than other alternatives are worth a look. For instance you can get Shadowmoor tournement pack boxes for $100 at the moment.
Thats just my opinion, do as you will since I'm not gunna be up there for it.

probably, but maybe not enough players for the 2v2, maybe if the "noobs" team up with experienced players? just a thought... anyway, i like the ideas that stanly has put up here, except the 80-100 deck limit, i think that 60+ is better

If you want to run a magic event then just ask Steve if you can use the Gaming room for such an event, come up with a date (giving at least 2 weeks notice) and do it. Discuss how prize support will work (generally speaking the entry fees are used to buy the store credit vouchers)
Simple!
Post it in the events section, ill update the coming events at the Dice and Deck thread with the details and all is done.

yes well there's is a reason for 80-100 cards only! as if someone like a vast card database decided to be a !@*#head, i could make a 150 cards with 4 artifact cards in it that are indestructable and can't be countered that says if i have 100 or more cards in my library i win! And before you say it's a banned combo, NO IT'S NOT! as it's one card and i've checked!
well then, let me bash my against a wall and see what puss comes out for organising a tournament, ah #&!$ it ok lets do this.
ok everyone let me know some numbers and who you'll be teaming up with as if there aren't enough people there wont be one.

The problem with doing indestructible artifacts is when people just remove them from the game. Or if someone traumatised you. Heh. twincast traumatise and then haunting echoes ftw.
Almost as fun as Thought Hemorrhaging a Relentless Rat deck.

see now that's where everyone f@%#'s up in a two-headed giant game any spell's that you partner plays also effect you! so if they can't be effected by spell then neither can you! you can see where i'm going with this can't you? i also know how to make a deck that would work well along side it! so traumatising someone like this is pointless unless you are 100% sure their other side can't do anything either.
that and well it goes perfectly in blue wizard deck! as it doesn't have to go in a artifact deck.

My understanding was that spells that affect you, only affect the player that plays them. However if it affects things that would be done to your life total than obviously it goes for both. Thats how we've been playing anyway.
Also you can protect yourself all you want. I know plenty of decks that could wipe you out long before then. Theres one kid that copied an elf tournement deck. 3rd turn he upends the entire deck and then grape shots you at the end.
Which is why I'm building a deck to thought hemorrhage him on the 2nd turn.

you do have have a point there dodo some spells that are played only affect you and others effect both of you, so i'll Q&A a local official that will know the spec's better or can look them up for me in any case.

know in any case if i can arrange a date for the event, i would like to know,

-whether you are absolutely not going to pull out, as if there aren't enough players it wont happen,
-and whether you would like it to be a one day event or two?
as normal there would be an entry fee and prizes, as for what for everything else we'll have to see if we have enough players first.
