Well this is where it all began. searching through my bits box I found this leftover bit form the engine of the gods from the back of the plastic stegadon. I cut off any lizardman glyphs from the edges.
I used a blank CD for the base and covered it with cardboard and used that for the fundation for my super sculpey landscape. i used regular GW sand for the base.
From there I added a DHD made from a lizardman glyph and a small but perfectly shaped piece of sprue (yes its not round, i couldnt find anything i like to use). I used a pair of the unused legs from the chaos daemons daemonettes box that i had left over from my squiddly bitches (AKA my pirate coast syreen conversions). I glued them in place first before cutting them off at the ankles so that i could keep them level. I also added some skulls to just below the gate, more just to show that it was relativley unused and that is likely why the alien was standing right in front of it and had no idea what would happen
From this point I was ready to paint the base. spray chaos black undercoat was used and a base coat of GW generic brown colour from the citadel terrain baseing kit left over from the realm of battle gaming board Ash got. on top of tht i used a dry brush of the ochre from the same set and finished it with a very light dry brush of skull white.
Grassed areas were flocked with the scorched grass flock and regular green flock in patches.
I painted the stargate and DHD with a base of adeptus battlegrey forthe recesses and thinned out fortress grey for the glyphs and large flat areas of stone. once this had dried I added a wash of charadon granite.
For the legs I started with a base of snot green and highlighted to scorpion green. skulls and claws were graveyard earth base, with highlights of bleached bone, up to skull white.
and here is the finished product:
righto! Thanks for looking, happy voteing! constructive criticism welcomed
