New release kits and Battle Missions book up for preorder at GW website...

The kits, especially the ork ones, are simply supurb:

Deff Dredd $83: This box set contains one multi-part plastic Ork Deff Dread. This 86-piece set includes: two cockpit sights, 10 different glyphs, five different close combat weapons, two big shootas, two rokkits, two kustom blastas, a skorcha, and other assembly options. Model supplied with a 60mm round base.



Killa Kans $74: This box set contains three multi-part plastic Ork Killa Kans. This 94-piece set includes: three variations of Cockpit, three different close combat weapons, a big shoota, a rokkit launcha and a skorcha. Also included are a host of glyphs, armour plates, horns, metal teef and dangly bitz. Models supplied with 60mm round bases.



Ven Dred $72: This box set contains one multi-part plastic Space Marine Venerable Dreadnought. This 84-piece set includes: a plasma cannon, an assault cannon, a twin-linked lascannon, a flamer, a storm bolter, an ornate power fist and a set of smoke launchers. Also included are: two different sets of ornate leg guards, three different helmets, six purity seals, two different pennants, a range of different sarcophagus armour plates, several sarcophagus designs, and a host of Crux Terminatus and other Imperial icons.



Flash Git $28: This blister contains one finely-detailed metal Ork Flash Git. Model supplied with a 25mm round base.



Balek $73: This box set contains one multi-part plastic Imperial Guard Basilisk. This 117-piece set includes a range of assembly options that allow you to customise your miniature.



Chimera $55: This box set contains one multi-part plastic Imperial Guard Chimera. This 95-piece set comes with a range of assembly options allowing you to customise your miniature, including: a turret-mounted multi-laser, a turret-mounted heavy flamer, a turret-mounted heavy bolter, a hull-mounted heavy flamer, a hull-mounted heavy bolter, a hunter-killer missile and two different tank commanders.

Forgot the Battle Missions Book
$42: This 96-page scenarios book contains 30 new missions and three special missions for use in your games of Warhammer 40,000. This book also includes extensive background material and maps describing different battle strategies and tactics used by the armies of the 41st Millennium.

I reckon all the stuff is priced very decently if you disregard the metal versus plastic argument. My only problem is with the Flash Git and why they did not produce in plastic?
Im guessing they are coming and maybe this is to wet the palettes of us gamers. Still $28 for a rank and file guy is a little steep but if you shop around I know you can get it for around the $20 mark.

Id get it as a squad leader or something, but yeah $28 is a bit much to field in ork size squads.

So getting that Ven Dred.

That ven dread is a massive improvement over that piece of crap metal one, Don't like the ork dread, kans are nice.

I never really liked the look of the Spacemarine Dreads since the very forst one (some of you guys may remember that 'classic' model) but I guess this one is the best of the lot so far.... Still does not say much. But if you are a marine player you got what you got.

The Ork dredds arms could do with more bulk which is the first thing I will be addressing when I get one!

And the weapons need to be bigger.
