Partisans, Polizei and ZOMBIES!!!
Since the 15mm bug has bitten me again I have been going through my collection of unopened and unused 15mm miniatures and came across a box that I purchased a while ago from the Dice and Deck. The box I'm speaking of is FOW Partisans and Polizei.
(this is a promo shot of Partisans and Polizei from the FOW website)
In this box you get some Russian Partisans, Some villagers and a handful of German Polizei. The box is designed for games to be played as a part of the Firestorm-Bagration campaign setting. It is unlikely I will get to play this campaign setting anytime in the near future as I do not have either of the armies required to play. It says you could sub one or both of the armies for another but that would not be the same. It's a pity as the models are really nice looking and I had to do something with them.
Just the other night I hired 'Dead Snow' which is a German zombie movie which pits 5 college students who are enjoying a weekend in a snow cabin against a small army of Nazi Zombies. It's a great movie and I recommend it to anyone who likes horror films, especially such films with a dark comical side to them.
It was after watching 'Dead Snow' that I looked around on the internet for some Nazi Zombie miniatures so I could do a small diorama in the near future. There are quite a few Nazi zombie miniatures out there but something in particular caught my eye.
Rebel Miniatures does a 15mm Nazi Zombie Platoon Pack of which is a picture below:
These guys look absolutely sweet. The idea of Partisans, Polizei and Zombies was settled. The Russian villagers, Partisans and German Polizei have to put aside their differences to defeat the horror stalking the land. Sure it's a big ask but a common enemy can change things.
On Tuesday I plan on ordering two platoons of these guys and enough FOW bases to mount them.
The contents of the Partisans and Polizei box will be based up as it is suggested on the box so I can still use them in the campaign setting they are made for. They are all based up singly with the exception of a two man German mini unit.
The only problem I foresee is coming up with rules to suit the zombies. How the hell do you represent zombies with the FOW rules?
Maybe our resident FOW experts could help me on this (pretty please)?
The zombies need not be the shuffling variety. In 'Dead Snow' these things were vicious. They could run, use their knives as well as claw, bite, tear etc. From what I can remember they did not use firearms yet they seemed to still have the intelligence too if absolutely required. They were also quite stealthy.
Oh, and they had a mean assed commander type guy who could control them even halting them if needed to.
Well thats the introduction of this diary.
