Hi all, I'd like to tell you about my army, but it's a secret ;D Mind you, what's the point of having a secret if you don't tell it to anyone... It's going to be Thousand Sons, an army I've wanted to do for some time now, and what better way to start than this. A quick rundown of what I intend it to consist of (and this is subject to change... it has once already  ) HQ: Ahriman Elites: Dread Ml/Pc Troops: 9 Thousand Sons w/rhino Troops: 9 Thousand Sons w/rhino Troops: 9 Thousand Sons Troops: 9 Thousand Sons Heavy support: Pred Annihilator So far, I've got a box of Thousand sons, with another one and an Ahriman blister on order No big plans for a painting schedule yet (I have to fit it in around the painting of my Templars for Jagged Alliance in October). Yep, that would be a great battle to see!
I think Jacob is going 13th company so chuck them in the mix and it will be a veritable shat storm!
I really like the colors of Thousand Sons but maybe a bit more yellow is needed in the helmets?
All the shading in the blue makes them look alot more other worldly too.
So what does Hivemind think of this army?

Someone is going 13th company? the bastard! I plan on doing some 13th company stuff to add in with my wolves when doing apocolypse. Pity you cant get the stuff from the uk/us online stores anymore. The wulfen were the only truly unique models, the rest you can kit bash fairly easily im guesin. I agree with ash on the colours, pity you cant do up a couple of squads of Skiitari to work in. maybe an idea for making it apocolypse ready  |

My point exactly. Blood Claws go RAH! , Grey Hunters go shooty shooty, Long Fangs go BOOM! and vehicles go BRRUMMM KABOOM.  oh and wolf scouts make no sound at all because they are ninja >_> thats my tactics in a nutshell |

well you got most of that correct except the part about the Long Fangs!
well most of the time they can't hit either of the twin towers and that was when they still stood upright and not all across new york, just trying say also that they are also usually the first to die so i would love to meet your army on the field.

Lol well at the moment im just doing models i like the look of, im hoping to use a couple of little tricks to make em last a lil longer but i unno. atm im just gunna do as much as possible and figure out the army list from that. Sides, fire control ftw |

looks good, I always liked the look of the thousand sons. Will look good on the table too with all those infantry- the backbone of any good marine force IMHO.  |

Yeah, i have a mate in sydney who does them. Although his gf tends to paint the stuff more than he does... and do a better job >_> 1k sons stuff is freaking sweet... even if they are traitor marine scum!

Well... off to a slow start here. So far I have my test model constructed and painted. The only other work I've managed to do on em' is assemble another Rubric Marine, an Aspiring Sorcerer and the Ahriman mini' and undercoat same... Hoping to get a lot more done this weekend (my weekend off) as most of my downtime at the moment is being eaten up with preparations (read: painting, basing n' finishing :  for Jagged Alliance on the long weekend. Once thats over, it's full steam ahead. |

i have seen the best conversion for a Thousand Son's dreadnought in WD ( can't remember which issue so don't ask me) it had the dread w/ a mummy burstin out of it. awesome, and he had a sweet defiler converted has a scorpin, he used two defilers kits. awesome choice of Thousand Sons that was the legion i would have chosen if i was going choas marines. |
