Just wondering if anyone can tell me if there is anywhere in adelaide that is cheaper then games workshop to buy the paints from? I could order them online but with only a $1.20 saving on each paint I would need to be buying more then a just a few for the postage not to make the saving pointless...
thanks.

I guess it depends on the number of paints you are looking to buy. A lot of the online retailers that offer discounts calculate shipping to 10% of your order total and as they generally offer a 20% discount that gives you around a 10% saving total so you do not really lose out there.
Otherwise most stores off the standard price.
Realistically you will not be looking at less than 5 paints standard start up.
Also GW are not the only manufacturers of hobby/miniatures paint and there are a lot of different brands out there some of the more popular being Vallejo Color and the P3 system by Privateer press.
Everyone here has their own preferred choice of brand etc so i'll let them chime in here.
(Our resident stockist on this board is The Dice and Deck so maybe it's worthwhile sending draconis a PM)

any locations in adelaide that sell Vallejo Color paints? I'll look at getting some stuff from the internet or something later.. but my models are on board for delivery today and I would like to be able to start failing my attempts at painting on sunday.. (doesn't mean I will.. but I'd like to be able to start..)

get some of their Sable brushes too, they are only a few dollars each and if you are like me your painting will improve by leaps on bounds.

not so great.. ;D
I've pretty well worked out how to paint most of them now.. but I need to work out how to get rid of the paint on the ones that I didn't end up liking...
so far I have maybe 6 I'm happy with 2 I'm not and the rest still only undercoated..

Well thats still progress!
You will find you get much better as you go along and it already sounds like you have adapted and changed with what you have done.
There are some ways of getting rid of paint and most really only work on metal miniatures. As these are only your first lot of miniatures maybe you could just reundercoat the ones you did not like?
If that does not sound like an option we can have a loof at them Friday night and see what your options are.

guess I'll just do that.. I had thought of just re undercoating them.. but thought it might make it too thick.. but it's only 2 whole models and a few of those back pack air thingies..
