If you are new to bloodbowl you may think that having to do some paperwork to draw up a team and keep updating it might be a pain.
If you are a seasoned bloodbowl coach then you will know that the ability of teams to grow and develop is the big thing that sets this game apart from the crowd.
These days the attached excel spreadsheet and similar products allow us to manage our teams without much effort.
All coaches are strongly encouraged to use the attached sheet to create their roster. It will make roster construction much easier and ensure that the team is legal.
Coaches are also encouraged to keep an electronic copy of their roster as well as a pencil and paper copy. The pencil and paper copy should be filled out from an empty roster printout and updated at the time of playing. These changes can then be made on your electonic copy of the sheet and emailed to the league commissioner.
THis enables the commisioner to keep an electronic copy of all rosters and to use this to generate a league ladder and to assist in the preparation of handicapping of games.
(if you have a device that has excel and is mobile then you don't need a copy on paper, e.g. a laptop or palm)
So what are you waiting for? Open up the spreadsheet and start putting together a few rosters you like the look of, and then russle up some miniatures to suit.
Note:
Rerolls cost double after you have played your first game.
Free fill-in "journeymen" linemen are available after your first game if you are ever unable to field a full 11 player team.
Teams can start with less than 11 players, though if they do they will likely find it hard to build a strong team for a long while.
Miniatures should look like what they are representing.
If proxying from another game choose models that will fit on the pitch properly and convert them ASAP, especially removing big weapons, replacing the base and posing the mini so it can lay facedown or faceup.
If players have different skills they will need to be clearly marked with numbers so your oponent can tell them apart.
Spiralling expenses:
after every game, any team with a team rating over 170 must deduct 40,000 gps from their treasury after winnings are calculated.
For each 10 points in team rating the team must deduct an additional 10,000 gp (50,00 for a 180 team rating, 60,000 for 190 etc).
A team treasury never goes into negative.
This salary capping system is designed to keep teams even, and may be altered by the commisioner if teams are advancing evenly without risk of leaving any of the other teams behind with a low value.
