If I get my Orcs painted up I might use them,
who else is planning on going and what do you think you'll use?

Do people think that teams that do not have many skills when purchased are less likely to do well. (Excluding the dice rolls). Then teams that have more skills when purchased?

some of the second tier teams are there for this reason- Chaos for example don't do great until they get some block, by comparison any team with a blitzer position already has some players with block, humans, orcs, dark elves, high elves, wood elves, pro elves, orcs.
You could see it as an opportunity to field a new team and fill it out with these starting skills, like starting with block on your Saurus/Chaos Warriors or even a troll or halfling!
Have you thought about drawing up a skaven tea again?

well my forms are in and payment made, so that makes me guppy and stu so far, drew thinking about it, and ash going if another commitment doesn't drag him away on the day in question... any other takers? the beauty of it being a swiss style tournament is that each round you are matched against someone with a similar standing, the top teams play agaisn the top teams, the bottom teams play eachother. So if you are new to the game and don't really know what you are doing you will probably be playing the crap teams like halflings, goblins and such. Therefore your games will be fairly competitive regardless of your skill level. A few of the top players may take it seriously, but most people are there to have fun and win some cool prizes. Each player is going to recieve a prize, with the top few prizes being a full BB team of minis! There is also a best painted team category, a best sportsmanship and also a player MVP prize, with the best BB player on the pitch over the tournament getting a model sculpted to represent him! If you don't have a team yet you can borrow one of mine, which include: chaos orcs, halflings, humans, pro elves, dwarves, skaven, undead, vampires, wood elves High elves, (Drew might be using these?) dark elves (I'll be using these so not available to borrow) information about the tournament is hereregistration form is hereblood bowl rulebook is herean excel spreadsheet to design your team is here

Reg'd,
Still trying to decide on team/skills
You can get an awful lot of stuff in an Undead roster at that TV
Give one of the ghouls Wrestle I guess for taking down blockers, Strip Ball on the star player does as good a job as Tackle when it comes to popping the ball loose.

Strip Ball on the star player does as good a job as Tackle when it comes to popping the ball loose. Except dwarf runners, orc and human throwers etc

I'll hit those with somebody else as they're unlikely to have Block, Dodge AND Strip Ball
