Those pics are still alright Ash. There are some interesting units there... What is the unit structure like in this system? I'm guessing it's still squad/platoon based , but historically so, or Gee Dubb mix n' match style? Also, kudos to the bloke using panzer IV's... They should be far more prevalent

Well I am by no means pro but the lists are fairly open and structured into the Country and Theatre. From that point on you pick your units but some are restricted to certain dates some of my US stuff is only avail from late 44 etc.
There are also some unit maximums per thousand points and also a complete cap regardless of size. My US list prob has over 50 different units I can pick from. The book has so many different armies and lists its crazy plus we are also playing the previous version as neither of us has sprung for the newer edition but will do soon!
It is also a command based game so you take HQ units so I have stuff like FAO's, FAC's etc etc.
You attach units to their command and make command checks which start off easy. When you pass your command check you can make actions with all your uniuts attached to that command. Each unit can also make different actions so some can move up whilst others provide covering fire. You can then make another command check but your leadership is one less and this goes on till you fail one then you move to your next command unit etc etc.
I like it, the game can be quite unpredictable as sometimes you maye keep failing command checks and get bogged down but then have an awesome set of command roles which swings the battle more in your favour. It is also easy enough to learn and after two or so games you should not have to refer to the book again unless you need your unit stats if you did not print your list out.

The rules are a blatant ripoff of warmster, and the guy who wrote it says so. Yes after this battle I wish I had assembled more panzer 4's, they are so much better than shermans. By the way Ash how many shermans survived the game? 2? Out of how many? How many rounds did it take to destroy the 2 panthers I took? How many turns did my p4's sit there?

Well I've never played warmaster but if BKC is the same then I reckon I'd like to play it.
Alex you should get in on a game, I'll run it like Brett used to if you want. We still need more terrain though, far too much open ground still.

hmmm... cool.
I was going to use premade as much as possible. I have done my time and proven well enough with scratch building although I hope to get back to it proper sometime soon!
