So we decided at one of our gaming nights that we oughta play some fantasy but we did not want to do things by halves. A team game was the way we should play with 2 a side and 2000pts per player.
Team A Was Ryan and Liam fielding Dark Elves and Daemons and Team B Ash and James fielding a Greenskin Horde.
It was a straight up pitched battle to get a hold on the new rules and with a large number of magic users on each side it seemed that magic was going to be a major player itself.
I opted for a straight out Night Goblin Horde fielding no less than 4 horde units of the little suckers being three of 50 NG's and one of 70 Ng's being led by Skarsnick and Gobbla. As per usual a full compliment of Fanatics supported the units as did two Giants.
I'll let the other guys talk about what they fielded if they see this thread.
Setup was done in the usual way except we were playing on 9 feet of table which had a number of hills and woods scattered around.
The Greenskins got the first turn and James Orc hordes made a good start tearing up the field in leaps and bounds while the Goblins were hampered by animosity in their ranks. This would be a theme for the game unfortunately.
Although it is tempting to give a blow by blow account I guess highlights are more appropriate. I'll get each player to discuss their highlights for the match as they visit the forums.
For myself having my giants destroyed by a super Sized Keeper of Secrets was a sucky way to see them off. Skarsnik and Gobbla were destroyed by a challenge combat with Skulltaker who dealt with them in one blow. I beat a combat with some Dark Elve Witch Elves to have them flee through two fanatics for a total of 2 wounds I unfortunately gave chase and my distance covered saw me land on the same two fanatics for 16 wounds... causing me to flee...
The Daemon and DE coalition got a minor victory on the night with about 200 more VP's than the Greenskins.
Twas a fantastic game and will be replayed very soon.
PICS:
A very unpainted army!
Some of the opposition!
Das Table!
Night Goblins about to be SERVED!
I'm fairly sure I was wiped out here too...
Stay tuned for more Fantasy action to come... including a mightily grand GM event coming soon!
Sorry about the photo quality and size.. This is due to a combination of broken flash, dodgy camera, crappy photobucket and laziness.
