Players and coaches are holding out for more cash and safer working conditions,
this week:
Star Players will not be available
If you have a star player as part of your team he does not count towards your team rating this week.
Coaching staff are all on strike.
If you have coaching staff on your team they do not count towards your team rating this week.
Player strike.
At the start of the match, AFTER inducements have been taken make a roll for each of your players to decide if he is going on strike for this game.
One player at a time roll a D6, if a player has skill increases roll an extra d6 for each increase. (e.g. a player with 1-5SPPP rolls 1D6, with 6-15 2D6, 16-35 3D6 etc).
If any of the dice for that player are a 1 the player is on strike and will not play!
Bribes
Can 'persuade' one of your players to rethink his position.
Discard one of your bribes to reroll any one D6 rolled at the start of the game to determine if a player is on strike.
rerolls
You can leverage team bonding and loyalty to try to convince players to not strike, and to keep playing for the team they love.
Discard a reroll (for the entire game) and roll a D6
Solidarity! , on a 2+ the player puts his team mates and the success of the team ahead of his own needs, and will play.
Moral Leadership
On a 1 he sticks resolutely to his position and furthermore his leadership inspires some of his younger team mates to join with him in striking. Choose from your other players the two who have the lowest SPP total. These two players will not play, regardless of whether they have already passed their own dice rolls.
If moral leadership occurs multiple times (rolling a 1 when using multiple rerolls) the two players with the next lowest SPP total will strike.
suggested lineup of games
1st vs 2nd
Adam has not yet played Mark, but has played everyone else
3rd vs 4th
Nathan has not yet played Paul,
(Also: Nathan has not played Mark - Paul has not played Brad)
5th vs 6th
Ash has not yet played Brad, but has played everyone else
the poor lowly halflings vs any player who wants to rock up and learn the game, or someone who already knows how to play but wants to squish stundties!
If this schedule works it will mean all the regulars have qualified for the playoffs a week early. it will also allow us to finalise the ladder nicely, since the games are 1v2, 3v4, 5v6.
We can then have a week of something fun (traditionally dungeon bowl) or get stuck into the playoffs a week early, which might allow some teams to have a double jeapoardy chance if they loose in week 1.
