Howdy this will be the first post, recounting the tales of this intrepid group and the unfortunate characters as we meet to enjoy some fine pen and paper roleplaying. Although given tonights game was Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition, some may debate the "fine" part.
Tonight saw 4 adventurers gather. A full write up of thier exploits will follow soon. This is will hopefully be a weekly to fortnightly meeting, with write ups being uploaded each time.

Yeah man, end of december. Not long after that night I picked up my order. Took a 6 month break from uni to sort out debt issues (like the missing rent money), walked into a job down here thats pretty sweet so it looks like I'm sticking around.

Part 1
The adventurers tonight were an Elven Range, a Shifter Druid, a Human Paladin, a Human Avenger and a Half-Elf Barbarian. These motley group all joined up with the Hammer-Hand Company, a well known mercenary group fulfilling contracts great and small.
Their first task seemed simple, travel to the mansion of a rich eccentric on the border of the town of Garabrand's territory to collect back taxes. Of the three parties of tax collectors already sent, two were missing and one had been locked in an asylum. The party set off choosing the overland route across a bridge, where they met their first obstacle: A party of starving bandits wearing the ragged robs of city tax collectors. These were easily dispatched, the last one pleading on hands and knees for mercy, telling the adventurers that they had chosen a life of crime rather than ever go back to that mansion. Unfortunately for the one-time bandit, the shifter had a taste for human flesh and proceeded to tear out the man's throat, eating his fill.
The rest of the journey proceeded without event, although the final stretch of road was met with mysterious statues all of the same odd looking man (picture Jim Carrey in "A Series of Unfortunate Events"). Finally they arrived at the mansion, being greeted with its imposing stone walls, impossibly smooth to the touch, and a single pair of large wooden doors, each mounted with a large metal door knocker sculpted in the shape of the same man as the statues. Not trusting the obvious, the barbarian charged forward, slamming into the door with all his might. With a flash of light and yelp of pain, the half-elf was thrown clear down the road. Shaking it off, he returned to the group who now decided to be polite and use the knockers, which to their great surprise, opened the door.
The room they entered was spotless, the walls lined with marble busts of who they guessed to be the owner. Except for the wall in front of them, whose only feature was five wooden doors which slammed open to reveal a halfing standing in each one. These halfings were dressed in black and white butler suits, wearing masks of their employer. With a deafening cry of "Bah weep gragnah weep nini bong!" wave after wave of charged at the heroes, who were left to desperately hack and burn their way through this seemingly unending supply of liveried midgets. Weary on and on the brink, the last midget was slain. To their surprise the room was once again spotless, every corpse and every drop of blood had vanished.
Proceeding through one of the door ways they were greeted with another room exactly the same. The Avenger noticed however that the eyes of every statue were eerily fixed upon the group. As they examined a door leading further into the mansion, the Paladin decided to test if this door was enchanted like the first one. He did this by slamming the Avenger into the door with all his strength. To his amusement, this resulted in the same flash of light and the Avenger being flung across the room, only to slam into the wall above the doorways. Upon trying the door's handle, they found it to be unlocked and perfectly harmless.
They entered a long, well lit hallway. Walking for a time until they met an intersection. A path to the right, a path to the left and in front a large stone door with engravings of a sword and two rings, with a small plinth to fit some kind of orb recessed into the wall next to it.
Stay tuned for Part 2 of the nights adventures.
