The job of being a professional blood bowl ref is not an easy one. In order to lobby for better conditions all league refs will be on strike this week. There will be no one there to send players off for breaking the rules. If a player is spotted fouling (doubles on armour or injury) the other team will immediately hit back (turnover) with extra vigour (+1 team reroll). Secret weapons can play all day!
SPP bonuses will be repeated for teams with players who recieved preseason training if they did not play in week 1.

I'm out - have my finals game in the CCKUP to play. Tomorrow is the only day we can both make it.

I forgot to upload my updated roster after last week's game - namely because dad's computer was not running that night and I have bothered to set my own one up yet... I'm not sure if anyone else put their roster up, and I can't be bothered doing any more than a cursory look around the forum, so I'm just gonna put it here. I'll get in the habit of putting it up after each Wednesday night game hopefully... Attachments:

The Dirty Birds have been updated. Bony Gonzalez is holding out for the princely sum of 90,000 (four skills, one of them a doubles) and Dante Robinson is holding out for the more modest sum of 40,000 (Block, Catch). At this point the team's front office is in negotiations with their agents. Attachments:

Gee those guys must be getting some interest from teams with deeper pockets in bigger leagues ;P

Just noticed: If I pay Bony and he gets another skill up and then holds out again, I'll be on the hook for the whole amount AGAIN. Wow.

yep, its less like a salary increase and more like a cash bonus to keep them in place until they improve again.
Perhaps an alternate system would work, but this one is simple and has the desired effect (ie make it tricky to rely on an uber player).

Franchise tag might be a suitable investment for Bony....

Alex, Magnus the Vamp ( and a damn good one last night also ) skilled up for the first time on my roster. As discussed with you, his Hold Out value ( which will be paid ) is only the additional $20k for the cost of this skill. Let me know if I have this right/wrong. Cheers.

that's right, basically he's not going to holdout for much because he's only recently been hired on, same with other people's free agents, players who skill up from the grass roots tend to get itchy feet and want to go earn a big contract with another team to earn their superstar cred- so it could potentially get pretty expensive to keep an overperforming star...
