First of all about the name. LEAVE ME ALONE ITS THE BEST I COULD DO ON THE SPOT!!!!

Ok, now thats settled i can get to the details.

Well as you should all probably know we are holding a league at the Dice and Deck.

It is a 1800pt no named character 40k league withh all the other usual restrictions.

You will be playing 2 games a fortnight. The breakdown into ortnights allows participants to take a weekend off for a holidy with family or tragedies, whatever and still allow you to play all your games.

As for the length of the league... well that depends on how many people will take part. You need to play everyone at least once and since their is a tournament smack bang in the middle it will be going to run for quite some time.

At last count there are 14 players which makes the league run for a minimum of 13 weeks.

The big question: The new 40k rules will be out 2 weeks after the league is due to start. What should we do about this?

There are really three options:
1: postpone the league a few more weeks in order to utilise the new rules.
2: Start the league as is and damned the new rules
3: Swap over to the new rules mid league.

Option three really is not ideal as the new rules are liable to change the functionality of a few lists.
Im actually al for starting the league a little later to accomodate the new rules. They arent drastically different from current rules (pretty much just assaults, vehicles and LOS is changed)

Either way the tournament in August will be using the new rules so maybe its a good time to get to know the rules beforew hand. Anyways it is up to you guys and majority rules.

I suggest option No2... How many of us (not just myself) will have time to play enough games to get used to the new rules?

option 2 as well the younger players wont be able learn the rules that quickly let alone myself too!

And postponing the league might cause players to withdraw from it, as they may loose interest! at least that way we can play the league and play fun games to learn the new rules in time for the tournament!

So option 2 for sure!

Okay, but the tournament (three months time) will utilise the new rules. I just dont want the club to be left behind in regards to the new rules

well think of it this way it means that steve can teach all of us the rules from the new bible!
and that people wont get confused with old rules and the new ones.

Well apparently the store will be getting a copy of the new bible shortly. We can teach you guys the rules for that for the tournament but still you will learn better yourself by owning a copy (mid July release)

We will take preorders soon so get to it!

So Steve when do you want to kick off the games as my first opponent Draconis can't play until the weekend due to work. I am free after 5pm on week days if Ash &/or Jacob can put up with us for about 3 hours. If that is not suitable you suggest a time & date & I will see if I can make it.
