We have all seen the articles in White Dwarfs over the years where 4 gamers start a new army from scratch and on a monthly basis report on how they are doing with pictures and the such.
Im wondering if any of you guys would like to do the same type of thing?
Start an army from scratch (or add a big chunk to a existing one) and detail our progress.
Let me know what you guys think!

hmmm.... probably wont start till after black reach as Im sure there will be a few armies starting around then.....
But good show ol chap!
(I was actually expecting you to write something diferent along the lines of me trying to make sales with this ploy!! hahaha)

hahaha... thats better.
Well Im proposing that we start sometime after Black Reach is released.
Could make t 4-6 months to complete a new 1800pt army fully painted and modeled.
Points awarded each month due to a minimum painting completion goal.
Armies DO have to be legal with the first elements in the first month having to be 2 troops and 1 HQ.
Each month there after two Force organization slots must be completed (any combination)
Minimum and maximum spending not an issue.....
What do you guys think?
(rules can be changed depending on the army... ie guard have alot m ore work to do in order to satisfy the requirements so could be more lenient...)

Umm honestly i unno, id love to be involved but me and deadlines = not good. Id just end up falling behind and letting the side down, so i think ill fold this time. Maybe after i get a bit more experience.

The Tale of X Gamers will run for Y months.
*For the first and last months of the Article participants may spend the equivilant cost of a battle force boxed.
*Every month inbetween the first and last months the maximum budget is half of the cost of said Battle force boxed set.
*Unspent money may be carried over to the following months
*Paints and glue and basing materials DO NOT count towards costs as this would be very restrictive
*If using anything that you already own this comes out of your budget - except a codex, so if you need to buy t, it doesnt come out of the budget
*Anything brought by contestants MUST be painted by the end of that month, failure to do so will result in a 20% deduction from the follwing months budget as penalty.

don't know but i might either start a full conversion army of Adeptus Mechanicus chapter of marines yet then again could actually start a traitor legion of guard probably either blood pact or a shadow legion of tzeentch i'm actually leaning towards tzeentch as i've never actually seen anyone actually field an army like that.
So who knows but between now and then i might start either buying and putting away or just saving up the money to buy the box sets when we start the tale of 4 players.

Excellent, looks like there is quite alot of interest in this activity!
If there is enough maybe the store can offer some sort of awards for thosde who complete the tasks and those that do best over all?

I'm definitely in for this. Gotta get may assault marine army going and this might just be the motivation ill need to paint it! Although I wouldn't mind doing a fantasy one and starting the new Dark Elves  For anyone that joins in, there will be free membership for the months that it is running, and of course the best armies at the end will be awarded with prizes!!! |

Allow a few weeks after Assault on Black Reach comes out so new people in the hobby get involved.
So the first month to start Saturday 13th of September.
Ill create a Sub Forum for the benefit of this aweesome endeavour!!
