We all play games otherwise we would not be here right? But we all like different ones. Some like games set off in the far future (or maybe set along time ago in a galaxy far far away....) or maybe set in Ye Olde Times. Others like something more recent. Well there are a myriad of different games systems out there and some of which some members may never have heard of.
So we are asking you to let us know which of the many differing systems out there you like the most. Can be for any reason: you like the miniatures, rules, background....
Just post it as a reply with why it stands out above the rest for yourself personally.
It can be any system, even one that so far is not supported at the Dice and Deck.

well, me first I suppose...
At the moment, and I am always changing my mind, I like the Apocalypse variant for 40K. Now 40k is not my second fav system, Its prob not even in my top 3. But why do I like Apocalypse then?
Well its the way it transforms 40K from being a highly competitive game to something more casual and friendly. No need to have the same points limit, no ned to have force organisation (which im sure some will turn it to be more comp based cause of that fact... They have missed the point entirely).
All you need to do is have a huge game and have fun with it. Plus the bangs are bigger!

I would have to agree with Ash on this one, the Apocalyse game revolves around having a great time squishing many of your enemies!
Although the 40k system is my second favourite because i probably use it the most, but thats besibe the point ;D

Mine's anything by Two Hour Wargames. Why? - The're Cheap.
- The're Fast (They don't call it Two Hour Wargames for nothing).
- They give realistic results, without getting bogged down in detail.
- They reward 'real world' tactics in every form, from fire and movement, to having leaders with your poorer quality troops, to using cover, and punish stupid things like running headlong at a machinegun nest.
- The're great for Solo play.
- The're easy to modify for various periods, or to Houserule things you don't like
- They have an EXCELLENT support network in the form of the Yahoo! group.
- NO POINTS SYSTEM! (Well, there is in some games, but you're encouraged not to use it). Real world fights are rarely fair. Set up a scenario, see what happens! Sometimes you may have the upper hand, sometimes you might find it's a running battle to get the heck outta there before you're overwhelmed by enemy!
The're just great rules! (And just to clarify, Yes, I'm the THW webmaster, I Don't love the rules because I'm the webmaster, I'm the webmaster because I love the rules. I do it for free (Well, no official payment) and wouldn't do it if I didn't believe the rules were great.)

Favourite system would prolly be fantasy, so many great armies that are ripe with conversion possibilities! I also love having massed ranks of infantry smash into each other! So much carnage!!!

my fave game system is bloodbowl, takes a game or two to learn and alife to master. I love how you build your team over time and players learn new skills etc
2nd would probably be Landser, a ww2 25mm skirmish game. Its similar to 40k but with smaller armies, usually each person has 1 unit of 10 soldiers, they move independantly shoot at what they want. Like 40k but a bit more detailed. great game system.

Currently No1 is FoW (in case it's not obvious). Of course, having an interest in the WWII period helps. Great game, simple rules...just gotta remember 'em!!!! Hmmm, simple rules for assault???... Miniatures are easy to paint. 2nd is definitely LOTR, probably edging toward the battle companies variant BTW, anyone else seen Shogun?

having an interest in the WWII period helps. NUTS!Yes... you are Oh, yeah... While we're at it... FoW, followed by that quirky, bug ridden, flea bitten GeeDubb game system. What was it called again? Ah, yes... that's right... 40K. I'm soooooo looking forward to the new edition with all its rules fixes (and all the new inherent built in rules stuff ups) and yet, I still play it. Plastic crack has that effect on ya ;D
