Not altogether a new idea with the combat squads as Dark Angels and Blood Angels have it going on...
But it can make your army more flexible.

I like the idea of a force led by one of those techmarine fellas, extra dreadies being a cool bonus  I've got way too many heavy weapons to use in my army at the moment, seems I need someone who has bought a assault on black reach for the orcs, so I can buy one and do a swap... hmm 2 more dreadies, 20 tacticals and my first unit of termies, that should flesh out what I've got to work nicely. (though I bet you can't make the termies lightning clawed, I love lightning claws, they look uber cool) |

If someone has Lightning Claws lying around then it should be easy.... Just a matter of doing a swap!
I had quite a few but I sold them...

Either that or buy the termy lighting claw blister from the online store. i think its around 18 or 24 bucks for 5 pairs of lighting claws (5 rights, 5 lefts).

The new SM codex is like WOW lots more options here is a run down of what i think....
Special HQs are very good, Captain now worth taking on a bike, Chaplains got crap stats as did Librarians (psychic powers are now free and very good)
Master of the Forge nice idea lame stats but Lord of the Armoury is great for the Mec armies.
Tac squads some free weapon options nice treat.
Rhinos, Razorbacks (more weapon options) and drop pods (drop pod Assaults sound great) decrease in points.
Scouts stats suck, options are great.
Termies got to love them always!!! Cyclone missle launcher is very good.... Land raiders transport option.
Sternguard you have to be a NUT not to see what these guys are good for.
Venerable dread BS5 with heavy Weapon ouch.
Ironclad Dread lay the smack down.
Legion of the damned not a bad counter Vs Thousand Sons.
Vanguard squad great options.
Speeders: Typhoon missle launcher fires 2 Krak, 2 multi-melta on the same Speeder option or 2 heavy boltersor x2 heavy flamer how nice.
Landspeeder storm scout speeder that transports 5 scouts how cool.
Scout bikes work nice in a combo with other units as does the storm speeder.
Land raider redeemer flames ap3 cool.....lol
Thunderfire cannon says i hate orks with heavy4 blast.
I cant wait to see them in action.

Yeah i cant wait to have a good read through when i pick up my copy tommorow. Im guessing/hoping the ironclad comes out around december. As for the drop pod assault, its how my army is gunna deploy so im gunna have to get a drop pod for each unit. Including one of these www.forgeworld.co.uk/dreaddrop.htm for my dred. |

I would not bother with the forge world one and just get the normal one and save the money it may not look as good but it does the job.

Yeah... but this is me. If i wanted to save money id find alternitives to half the citadel products i use. I dont plan on getting one for a long while however.
