Well it looks like the first official Dice and Deck tournament will be for 40K with a 1200pts limit.
Why such a small amount?
Because we feel its a size where armies are small enough to have the most participants whilst still allowing the majority of armies to have their inherent strengths and weaknesses. This will also allow some of the newer players to get involved.
Later there will be bigger tournaments. This will be a common theme for tournaments to allow more and more people to get into the action of tournament gaming.
All other details will be posted in the events forum when everything has been settled.

Good idea to give restrictions/guidelines/preferences in advance to give peeps the oportunity to get their gear ready for action!
Sounds like this would be just the thing to spur me into action on a few things 40k.

Well we have decided to very much limit the restrictions.
Normal force organisation chart.
No Special Characters.
Lists must be from a current Codex in current print by GW.
You MUST have a hardcopy of the codex you end up using.
NO proxies (sorry Bega) and wysiwyg
If the no special character rule messes up your list, ie Ravenwing then post the problem and we can arrange a compromise.

You dont need to own it, just have one at hand (borrow, photocopied etc) incase there are rules queries by your opponent.

Heh, Bega shut down before the kick off ;D At least the restrictions are less... restricting. Would prefer 1500pts tho'. One restriction I would like to see tho', is no PoS Dark Eldar Air Force... When's this going to take place, and will it be on my weekend off so I can damn well participate  ;D |

Well we shall try to accomodate you there steve.
And dont worry, there will be other tournaments with a higher points value. This is just to kick things off and get more of the new and younger guys playing who might not be able to field larger armies yet.

even with all my minis I prefer the 1200 pts, alot of people myself included tend to collect only about 1500 points of an army then move onto the next one, so a 1500 point battle fields everything you have, sometimes included minis that are in progress, unpainted, busted, unpacked for painting, or unsuited for the type of tournement you expect. |

well bega, if i dont get down there, more than likely, unless its in my first lot of holidays, gotta love uni, six weeks of work, go have two weeks off!!! gold! so yeah, if i dont get down, blood angels have been left there, i can let you use them, as long as you dont try and paint them or maybe equip them with god forbid.... blowpipes!!
