Well I have decided on the color scheme for my 'Dark Angels'.. Will be bone colored marble power armour with red fabric. Will be a hard scheme to achieve and will take some time to do (even longer to get the experimental minis to look right) Now I just need to find out a good way of painting it. I have looked up on numerous sites but they dont really have the marble look im going for. If you have WD 232 there is a article where different members of the Eavy Metal team are painting a Chaos Lord. One has bone marble armour.. thats what im trying to achieve. There is also a Golden Demon winner of a Wraith Bone textured Eldar walker (forget their name D'oh!) that too is a good idea. Here too is a example of the type of marble:  Im thinking of giving it a gloss sheen aswell. Any help would be awesome! |

there is a white dwarf (eons ago) that had the 'eavy metal team painting up asdubel vect's dais of destruction, cool name for a guy's dark eldar raider. anyway, the entirety of the dais was painted marble, and coincedently was green also. if you were able to replicate what im thinkin of, that would be totally sick!!! it went through all of the different stages of highlights, don't think it was too hard, just needed a fine brush and patience. i have a couple of WD up here with me, but i have a feeling it's in a drawer back home. i'll loo, but don't hold your breath

I remeber that one, itll be in my collection somewhere...
Ill go and look it up!
Ill just have to change the green for bone colors as thats the color I want to do them up in.

id say bleached bone, stipple on some desert yellow, lightly highlight with skull wight, possibly toned down with bleached bone. then id say dark flesh for the veins, then some very thin scorched brown down the middle of that. might work, might not, lol ;D

The only prob with that article is that its green marble from what I remember and im really after a cream marble. Ill search it out but i got over 150 issues... any idea (year, decade) when it came out?
Ill prob go with the hotlead article and just use different colors...

sorry to sound like an idiot but IIRC aren't dark angels green ash?? their deathwing are bone coloured to remember their fallen, and the ravenwing black for similar reasons, or something like that. that would all still look pretty cool green marble, black and bone marble, still would all fit together and sticks fluff wise

Im actually not doing them as Dark angels. My own chapter. I chose not to do Darkangels due to their armies being made up of different colored elements and not really looking uniform in my eyes.
I just cant hack having most units green then other elements in different colors. Just looks messy to me. Im even the type of guy who hates librarians and techs being different colors to the rest of the army. Probably due to my obsessive compulsiveness....
So yeah, new chapter no idea on name yet just know the colors i want.

Ooooh..... I would hate the look of that sooo much. I even hate the deathwatch due to differing shoulder pads!
