Well ive only just remembered to post it on here but us guys down here in Mildura are starting a league as of monday which ill be posting the results for each week on here. So you guys can follow along since you know most of the players.
Da Rulez:
Each player will field 1000pts per game. They can change their list each week but it has to be submitted to me before matches start each week, and no one will know their oponent in advance. Ditto for deployment and objectives.
Players will score 3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss. Prizes will be awarded to first, second, third and Sportsmanship.
The league will run for 5 weeks, culminating in an apocolypse game where players will receive mystery objectives based on their games played over the past 5 weeks and no one will know the other player's objectives.
The apocolypse game will be open to everyone, not just league players, however league players wont have to pay to go in it.
The cost for going in the league will be $30 per player, to be paid by week 2 at the latest.
Im also going to try and bodge up a league trophy. If all goes well expect to see another one in a few months time.
Let the slaughter begin! WAAAGGHHH!!!!

Hmm.... looks about time for us to get another league happening down here. We have not done one since Klendathu...
Anyways good luck on your first running of a league and I'll be reading this thread!

Alright Week 1 is over. All games have been played except for 1 which will be played at the beginning of next week. We've had 10 registered participants, which was about what we expected.
Da Bosses:
Black Templar - Black Templars (duh.)
Thecoldfastnub - Soul Drinkers
John - Tau
Milty - Tau
Matt - Eldar
MajorDodo - Space Wolves (had to make the numbers even)
Jacob - Chaos
Daniel - Marines
Perger - Orks
Darren - Tyranids
The matches for the first week were:
Darren vs Jacob
Daniel vs Black Templar
Perger vs Matt
John vs Borchard
Milty vs MajorDodo (yet to be played)
The guys were playing Anhilation using the renmark rules from the last tourney. Players had to get half the possible victory points before they actually started scoring. Some forgot this... and the look on Borchards face when he found out he hadnt won by 1 point but had in fact LOST by that margin was priceless.
With 3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss, the score board stands thus:
Darren - 3
Daniel - 3
Matt - 3
John - 3
Perger - 1
Black Templar - 1
Borchard - 1
Jacob - 1
Looking for another set of good games next week and alot of army list changes as people realise what works in these small games and what doesnt. Ie. taking 10 terminators with an assault cannon and cyclone while certainly powerful... probably isnt a good idea.

Well we had another set of fantastic games many of which came really close and if it wasnt for the 6 turn limit could have ended alot differently.
The matchups this week:
Jacob vs Dodo
John vs Daniel
Matt vs Aaron
Darren vs Milty
Borchard vs Perger (re-scheduled to next week)
Matt vs Black Templar

With 3 weeks to go, and 2 rescheduled games to be played its definately anyones game. Will Tyranids swarm to victory or will the Farseers have guided thier aspect warriors to the correct path. This week saw the coming of our second last set of matches for the league... and an 800pt increase in everyones army size, which naturally changed things up a bit.
Week 4:
Darren vs Daniel

Yeah its still close. If darren loses and one of the other 2nd placers wins this week we'll be stuck going into some overtime rounds to determine the winner.

Well it sure was a tense ending to the league, with a 3-way tie possible it all came down to Matt to end Darren's winning streak. Here were the match ups and the surprising results:
Week 5:
Darren vs Matt
Daniel vs Milty
John vs Perger
Dodo vs Borchard
Jacob vs Aaron.
And the final Leaderboards:
Darren - 13

Aaron - 9
Perger - 8

As you can see in the end the dreaded 3-way tie did occur. Instead of running into overtime it was decided sportsmanship would determine the results. The players were asked to nominate their 3 most enjoyable games, ranked 1 - 3 with 1 being the best. After tallying up the points here are the results:
1st Prize - Daniel (Marines)
2nd Prize - Matt (Eldar)
3rd Prize - Darren (Tyranids)
Sportsmanship - Aaron (Black Templars)
All thats left now is the Apocolypse game on saturday which all are invited to participate in. 5k limit, no minimum. Be there by 9:30am with your army, list, and if you can your Strategic Asset. Game will start at 10, with a break for lunch. Some drinks will be provided aswell.
Its been an exciting 5 weeks and I'm looking forward to the next one which will be bigger, longer and not too far in the distant future.
