to demonstrate how much this means to the average chinese student today google it in google images in google.com then google it in google.cn (google china). nice little government endorsed media blackout isnt it? while i do complain about the government here, cant say its bad by comparison...

ehhhh...did you just make an attempt to compare Australia the government of australia with that of the Peoples Republic of China? in what way? human rights abuse? lack of minimum wage law? overpoulation? media censorship? lack of freedom? extreme poverty? female infanticide rates? human trafficing? government corruption? economic power?
because if thats what you are getting at I had better call Kevin Rudd's secret police and tell them about how you just bad mouthed the government, and if theyre trying to behave like China thats all the evidence required to have you imprisoned and possibly shot!
and if what you were getting at was "internet censorship" ah la "the great firewall of china" That legislation was effectivly axed due to lack of support and too fewer votes in the senate...that sure sounds to me like a government bent on total media control.
