Well there is always the large drybrush... the bristles will be harder but it should still serve as a large basecoat brush of sorts

Yep, not everything went up in price but some people will argue its a new product so this does not count ....

Yeah, plus you've also gotta wonder what the difference between the 2 brushes will be that they can sell it at the new price, or whether it was that ridiculously over priced to begin with. From the looks of the brushes though, are the sourcing them all through a new supplier?

you were not meant to agree to that... They have bought the price down, you can now get a GW large drybrush for cheaper and thats all that needs to be said.
I dare say they are from a new source but I doubt they would be of lesser quality.

I have little trust in ANY company. When a product goes from being $35 to $15, while this is certainly a good thing, ofcourse I'll wonder whether theres a quality drop.

It seems like every mention of the GW brushes i've read on the internet has been advising people to buy their brushes from elsewhere, such as art shops.

I never did that because the brice difference between a GW sable brush and one from an art store was negligible, and so was the quality difference. At least at the single art shop in my town.

Your town? I know of one art shop, so we're probably talking about the same one. I went there for foamboard and they said come back in a week. I came back in a week and they said they'd order some for me. I came back in a week and they apologized, so i decided to look for some at officeworks. While standing in line at officeworks with my foamboard, the lady behind me goes "oh, you should by your foamboard from [that art shop], it's cheaper there". :S
