Thanks Pup, and also to Alex for the "painting eyes" link: thediceanddeck.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=paint&action=display&thread=116All of the metalwork is presently only a shaded grey. My plan is to detail the base and then dullcote him as is. I'll then apply silver to all the metalwork, wash the recesses down with black and apply satin polyurethane varnish to only those parts. Hopin' it'll work. Anyone know a better way? I really don't want to trash an otherwise nice paint job! |

I thought crayons were the order of the day Hey, I've always said I preffer 'real' minis if I can get 'em :-) I Just went away for 2 weeks and managed to paint 8 hishen and a couple of Grath minis. I'll try n take shots, considering I've not painted for 3 years I'm happy with the result. Pales in comparison to 'Nuts work though. Got home to find 56 little bits of lead arrived in the mail too ;D 15mm zombies and survivors from Rebel Minis. Gotta find time to break out the paint on them too. <sigh> Need another work trip to come up! |

Looking good FOWnut. I especially like the way the robes came out. You painted them just about perfectly; not too dark or light.

This miniature looks really awesome close up and in person. A really good job indeed. The robes have been painted just about to perfection and the grey itself is very close to what you see in the movie. I also like the texture you have achieved on the robes, actually looks like cloth!
You should submit it to cool mini or not.
