GUILD NEWS
Preview Edition 27/7/09
Welcome to the forums preview edition of the Guild News.
This first preview edition is here to let you know what the purpose of this new monthly news brief.
Its main purpose is for the communication of information provided by the various clubs and its members that are part of the Riverland Gamers Guild boards. Many members visit the forums and make additions to it on a regular basis but there are still a few members who are a little more sparse in their visitations and this news letter will help to keep those who fall into that category keep up to date with whats going on in this hobby community.
Each months newsletter will take all the information provided by the clubs and compile it into what will be delivered as a forum post and a mass email. For someone to receive these emails they must 'opt in' for mass emails in their profile (although I'm pretty sure that it is set to 'opt in' as the default.)
What we would like to see from the clubs are the details for any upcoming events, specials, competitions, news and whatever you would like everyone who is a member here to see. So if you have a tournament planned let me know. If someone has completed a really cool army let me know. If someone has pulled off an epic win or fail against the odds then let me know.
And just how do you let me know?
PM me through the forums (ash) or email me (gormath@hotmail.com) with all the details and pictures you would like to see sent out.

CLUB NEWS
THE RIVERLAND GAMERS GUILD (RGG)
The Riverland Gamers Guild has just held their 'tournament with no name' 1500pt 40k Tournament. Held over the weekend of 5-6th September the tournament saw great success with a great turnout and some great gaming.
There are some great photos for view in the tournament forum thread:
thediceanddeck.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=events&action=display&thread=869&page=2
With that tournament complete the RGG is looking toward its next tournament set to be a Fantasy Tournament. Details are a little sketchy at this stage but all will be revealed through the forums and this newsletter.
MILDURA WAAAGH
Majordodo, the current head of the Mildura WAAAGH is in the process of organizing the clubs next league. In the past the Mildura WAAAGH's leagues have proven to have a decent turn out with participants taking part in 40k battles to see who is the best general of the bunch.
This time around it will be a pairs tournament but with a twist. The week before each game is set to be played the participants will be paired at random. This will have the effect of creating some interesting partnerships both with armies that normally would not be allied together and players who have never sat at the same side of the table.
Tyranids and Marines, Tau and Necrons, Orcs and other Orcs?!?!
It is a great idea and hopefully we will have full details in the first full edition of the Guild News.
Northern Football Invitational (NFI)
The NFI is deep in its first Bloodbowl League with 8 teams participating and knocking skulls together. With the possible addition of two new players and a handful of new teams its looking like this is set to be a very interesting upcoming months of Football.
Alex has been doing an excellent job at keeping the players and public informed of all the games that are being played and each teams developments.
On the news front the NFI is looking to establish Sunday Afternoons as the new 'official' slot for players to meet. Accompanied with Beer and BBQ the Sunday Arvo weekly football meet will be very popular indeed.
The NFI had been holding ts weekly meet on a Wednesday but the limited time for games to be played during the evening has led to the day change.
Player Darren (The Rampaging Reavers) has been a busy bee and knocked up a fantastic looking board suitable for various games including Bloodbowl. This first 'prototype' board was a huge success at the impromptu Saturday meet and had the players foaming at the mouth wanting to own a piece of this gaming 'bling'.
Having viewed plans for the second prototype board it looks like we can expect some interesting gaming aides in the future.
Thats all the club news for now.
The first full Guild Newsletter will be out Sunday 11th of October. If you have any news that you would like to be added to that edition then please get all the details to me no later than the 8th of that same month.
Remember we are looking for new clubs to promote and any other news and community events.
