hmmm, these competitions are a great idea, Thanks ash for clueing me in on it. Well for those of you who've read Ben Counter, you'd have heard of the Soul Drinkers, a truer Chapter of Sapce Marines there has never been, tricked into accepting mutations by a greater daemon of Tzeench posing as the Emperor, then both willingly and forcibly leaving the Imperium of Man behind to fight by there own merits for the purposes of the Emperor. After having almost single-handedly fought their way to the heart of a tomb world deep in uncharted space and destroying the heart of what would've been a devestating invasion of Necrons, they are arrested by Captain Lysander of the Imperial Fists himself, although Sarpedon the Librarian Chapter Master and his Soul Drinkers willingly allowed themselves to be taken by the Fists rather than cause more bloodshed in his own chapter and of what he still saw to be his brother from the father Chapter of the Primarch Rogal Dorn, i have always wondered what it woul've been like for Sarpedon to have faced off against the Tactical Dreadnaught Armor bearing Lysander, what it shall look like i still don't know but there are still a number of weeks to find out, i'll keep you posted

Ok, so i know not how many of you have seen the other version of Sarpedon that's been floating around on the net but to me he just doesn't look right... www.electricocean.com/gtpics/031/sarpedon_combined.sized.jpgok, yeah the armour is good but the jegs and spiders abdomen just looks wrong, i reckon i'm gonna do it right by him and give him legs akin to those of a tyranid, then thanks in part to randon pics and what bits i've got he'll possibly have what was once an arm off a techmarines harness

Nice opening post Mr B.
So I take it that you are some sort of a fan of the Souldrinkers then? I myself have only read one of their books and was immediately hooked by a non chaotic/ chaotic tainted marine chapter. Some of the Assault Squad guys in the book sounded like absolute nutters. At one point I wanted to do a SD army but instead chose Darkangels.
That Sarpedon conversion just looks like someone jammed the upper half of a marine onto the LOTR Shelob miniature.

That picture looks terrible, you're right he relaly needs a better version.
Perhaps you could do the duel between Sarepedon and the previous chapter master (forget his name)

well here is Captain Lysander of the Imperial Fists, in all his multipiece glory. when i decided on using lysander for this i thought i would have issues removing his shield, not so thankfully. his shield was a separate piece entirely, his hammerhand on the other.. hand will be interesting, what i want to do is to take it off just below the elbow and rotate it so his hamer is in more of a sideways position, trying to think of how though Attachments:

ok , to expand on the librarian. his legs looked awesome but they had to go, i carefully took to them with the hobby saw found in the GW tool kit and worked my way through till i was almost at the front of the belt, then i slowly 'wiggled' the legs back and forth till the snapped off leaving the buckle on the front in perfect nick. i then took to the belt with 'bolter and chainsword' knife and file slowly removing the remainder of the pouches and other bits that were moulded onto him, i'll probably gig out a couple of purity seals if i can to cover the imperfection on either side of the buckle

What's the purpose of removing detail? I'm just curious.

well the details that were on his belt were all cut in half by removing his legs, so i couldn't leave the rest sitting there incomplete

i've hit a minor hitch, i've found that tyranid warrior 'scythe arms' are perfect for the legs, yet so far have only managed to aquire 2 of the 7 i need, also stuck trying to think of what to use for his one mechanical leg? ? any aid will be appreciated and duely credited, thank matt from the waaagh for the two i've got so far
