Praag- Kislev
This week the Northern Football Invitational has been invited to play in Praag, one of three main cities in the nation of Kislev. Kislev is the northern most extent of human civilisation in the old world, and Praag is the northern most city in Kislev. To the north are the rolling wasted tundras of troll country and the chaos wastes. Life on the frontier is hard, fighting is an intrinsic component of every day life.
The citizens of Praag are always surrounded by the taint of chaos and a panoply of enemy forces. The people learn to do anything they can to win a fight, and to enjoy every minute they live before death. No pursuit juxtaposes the glory of success with gory grim death as much as Blood Bowl, and the game is the only cultural pasttime in the city to which they bring their grisly yet pragmatic outlook on life and war.
[players are never sent off for fouling, which Kislevites see as a legitimate part of Blood Bowl strategy.]
Amoung the children and young men of the poor quarter the dream of being recruited by a passing team is the hope of escaping an untimely death as a soldier defending Kislev from the marauders of the north. Young hopefulls pack the stadium at every game and take every opportunity to show off their Blood Bowl skills in the hope of catching the eye of one of the coaches.
[throw ins go 3D6, not 2]
[+3 to injury rolls caused by the crowd]
During the Great War Against Chaos 200 years ago Praag was laid siege to by an the titanic Chaos horde of Asavar Kul. Though Magnus the Pious and the Kislevite forces won the day and broke the siege, the city was left so tainted by Chaos that the structures of the city became twisted and mutated, sprouting tentacles and mutations while the ground quaked and writhed and. The surviving citizens of Praag had no option but to burn it to the ground and rebuild their city from scratch. Since that time it has been known as "The Cursed City".
[If a player rolls double 1 for a skill improvement after a game in Praag they must take a mutation, even if it is not normally allowed for their race.]
