Bigdave is running a few games of Carwars tomorrow night starting at about 7pm. Will be using Div15 premade cars and Dave has possibly made a surprise addition.
These games will be playtesting his idea of using a Deathrace style format: Weapons systems offline till appropriate 'icon' is driven over. Icons only become available on your second lap so put the pedal to the metal!
This will hopefully be the precurser to a full Carwars Campaign which should prove to be pretty fun.
Anyways just rock up. There will be places for about 8 players.

The Game was good tonight but a little bit slowed down as we all needed to relearn rules. But this will pass.
The icon set up was okay (except poor Alex setting off the road spikes) Like Dave said a chart that gives a random obstacle would be cool.. smoke, oil slicks, spikes, mines... maybe even different icons?
What will be involved in starting a campaign with stats carried over and cash?
Anyways can not wait to see what you have made up for tomorrow....

a great game for sure, thanks to dave for organising it. Solid tires Ash, spikes didn't bother me much. The game didn't slow down too much, well not until my driver and gunner got killed.  I'd love to use a car I'd designed myself, after that reintroduction, especially if it was part of a campaign thingo, though I tend to make myself available once a week to stop over. Maybe it could be a regular/less regular friday night thing? |

If you were going to base it off death race, instead of having a random chart for your car, just pic a couple of things or pay to for the equipment (im unsure how car wars works) and then as the campaign progressses you can buy more or different stuff.

The icon you are referring too was the version of the 'deaths head'... instead of a wall popping up it was Tyre Spikes... Makes more sense to Car Wars

oh wait. i understand now. I misunderstood what you said before, i took it to mean a randomized upgrade for the car (yes... the word OBSTACLE went completely unabsorbed).
I think maybe either decide what the death's heads willl be prior to game and not tell the players. or randomize and then fix the result to each death's head as its triggered.

Yes, there has been carwars every Friday and its now a kind of official game for Fridays/ There will be one tonight... and Dave may let us build cars |

Sorry people, I won't be able to make it tonight as I have been home sick for the last 2 & 1/2 days. The last thing I want to do is make other people sick before the fun on Saturday. I doubt that I will make it to tomorrows festivities so take this as my sincere apologies but feel free to play car wars tonight as all the gear is in a green bag under the bench next to the spray booth. Have fun as I will want to hear about all the highjinks when I am next able to make it to the club rooms.
