WAAAAAGH GORMATH (Month 4 Completed!)

Here is an update!!!

Its been a while since I made one (and a longer time since I posted pics but alas that will have to wait for yet another day...)

I have still been hard at work on my Orcs. Over the last couple of days I have been working feverishly on my Looted Wagon and Deff Dredd. The Wagon is now ready for an undercoat along with its crew models. I have put lots of little bits and pieces on the model that really make it look cool.

Theres the Orc Hammerer who is scratching his backside waiting for the Bookgun Ammo to be loaded so he can smash the back of the projectile setting off the charge and putting it into flight.

But of course there is a Grot holding a chisel up to the Hittin Bit. The poor fool has bandaged up hands from all the flash back....

After the undercoat is dry I will hit it up with a marathon drybrushing session to get all the metal done. Then its all the Blue stuff, skin and details. Should not take too long but you never know with these things. Chances are I will add even more to this beast before it is done. I still have a few left over Grots who would make great riggers.

The Deffdredd is coming along nicely also. I have been building up the crew compartment which is basically a seat, control stick and a few buttons. Boring I know but then you have the two Grots who are fighting over the controls!

This took quite a bit of converting to achieve and a bit of greenstuff. I had to resculpt shoulders, hands, feet... It was all a little annoying having to do it in this heat but I got there and hopefully it will not look too bad under the paint.

All I really need to do now on it is finish detailing the body of the model, finalise its pose and glue it to a nice little city fight base I am making up for it. Should be finished with these models in a week or so which will leave me some time to finish another unit of Boyz and bring me up to 1800pts!

But it will not end there... There are a couple of Stompas that need to get added to the army and of course I still need to finish the Gargant....

well its all finished and I actually have a 1500pt army thats fully painted and very playable. I may have missed the 1800pt mark by a smidge but this is easily the biggest fully painted 40k army that I have owned and that in itself is an achievement for me.

I originally started out wanting to do a Blood Axe army full of Kommandos and smaller squads of boyz all themed to a city fight feel. When I was painting my first mob of Boyz that changed quick. I had come to do the camouflage scheme and started off with the blue (was going for a blue and gray scheme). I chucked on the Shadow Grey and it looked a little too bright so I then washed it with Asurman Blue and instantly, right there my plan changed. The Blue looked great and was bloody simple to do!

The change probably saved me a few hours aswell and that works for me

I managed to finish the first month on time completing the 40 Boyz and Big Mek Conversion on the night before. I left the store at about 10:30pm that night having completed gluing the Boyz to their bases and left them propped up against each other and various paint pots. Feeling accomplished in achieving the first month I went home.

First month:
One Ork Bik Mek w/ Shokk Attak Gun and Power Klaw Conversion
2 Units of Slugga Choppa Ork Boyz each numbering 20 with 2 Big Shootas and one Nob with Choppa and Slugga

Completed on time to a decent standard: 5 points

Month 2.
I had the contents left over from 2 AOBR boxes sitting there and thought it was about time I got some hard hitters ready in the form of a Deff Kopta Skwad.

I like the miniatures in the box but for some reason they all have Rokkits!
I decided to change this and bought a box of Bikes in order to loot some parts. The big shootas ended up on some Deff Koptas as well as the cool looking front cowlings etc. With the addition of a few snotlings and big bomms the job was a good un.

I was originally hoping to get 5 Koptas done and a unit of nobz but I only ended up completing the 3 Koptas.

Month 2:
3 Deff Koptas, 1 with Shootas, 2 with Rokkits all with Big Bomms and Buzz Saws (in the form of Klaws and Big Choppas!)

Completed 1 day late: 4points


Month 3: Nobs Nobs Nobs Nobs!

Painted 8 Nobz from the Box Sets. No real difference besides a few head swaps.

What I did do that was cool was start on my Deff Dredd and Looted Wagon. These two turned out Gargantuan... The Dredd is at least twice as big as the GW model and the Wagon... HUGE!
These are still yet to be completed but are now undercoated and dry brushed. Still I did manage to get the Nobz completed.

Month 3:
8 Nobz armed with Sluggas and Choppas

Month 4
I had wanted to finish my Dredd, Wagon and Killa Kans but as there was a Doubles Tournament held in Mildura I opted to focus on finishing models for that list. This meant I needed to paint more Nobz and a Warboss.

The new Nobz are absolutely awesome models. I created a good array of different looking models out of the box and included a Painboy to boot and a Attack Squig for my Warboss. All were finished on time and the tournament was a blast (even though I suffered a big taste of the Lash...)

My newly painted nobz probably did the best out of my army and its a good thing too as the unit cost me something like 450 points!

Month 4 Completed on Time: 5 points.


I did have a crack at the bonus month and managed to get some work done but not completed....
Still I did achieve close to what I wanted out of this and feel pretty happy with myself. In the next few month I will be running another tale of gamers so keep your eyes open for that.

I just have to think about what I want to do for it...
