well there is now no Chaos army at the den. The expensive troops choices will mean that you can field a playable army quicker and cheaper than any other race. They have all the different gods that you would be familiar with in 40k too; Nurgle, Slaanesh, Khorne, Tzeentch and of course you can always go undivided.
You can probably also build up an Elve force pretty quickly. High Elves are quite expensive points wise and they really are powerful, just not tough. But do enough damage in combat and noone will be left to fight you back!
Tomb Kings can be very tough if you know how to use them but if not they are very fragile.
Really it comes down to your preference. Do you like to choose an army on looks? Money? or power?

Do you prefer plastic or metal miniatures by the way? Dark elves have alot of units that are metal only....

I prefer plastic bcoz they are easier to make and paint so that sucks that they are mostly metal so that mainly leaves tomb kings yaaay

Might be a good idea. Then the tomb kings might actually get some use! Remember that game Dave had against him at one of the tournament bbqs? First turn empire magic phase and they had won the game!

iain isnt the smatest of people, he didnt realise that his army only crumbles when the liche dies, it doesnt just completely die. the way it works is, once the main liche dies, the undead units need to take a leadership test at the start of each of their turns, they then lose one wound for each point they fail by. so, with luck the death of a liche priest wont be the death of your whole army.

What is the leadership for the generic unit of skeletons? And can you raise anything without the liche priest?

Buying an army from scratch allows you to field what you want. Start with a battalion box set and go from there. The battalion gives you a solid core from which to work around. When the sale is on you will make a substantial saving on a battalion. From there buy a few more boxes and a character or two and you will have a decent army to play in the first Warhammer tourney of the year (1200-1500pts)

plenty! just not anyone that actually plays the games. we all to impatient. seriously, you buy a new uber unit, adn you gotta wait like 3 months till you can use teh fkrz cos your painting went wrong, the model falls apart, adn it took weeks to come in in the first place!
