By big or small I'm meaning should I go for lots of marauders and other unarmoured units, or lots of warriors?
So far the 2000pts lists I've written up are:

hehe, well it looks like im going with the warriors for now. maybe the marauders will follow soon. and of course, a mammoth would be excellent.

f**king bastard! All you left was marauders and a chariot you thingy. I wanted some warriors this visit >_< Jacob go die in a fire.
After looking at the list im definately fielding a giant and possibly some spawn. Lord of Slaanesh on mount and sorceror of nurgle, warriors, marauders and knights. wouldnt mind doing Sigvald and a squad of warriors, the front rank featuring mirrored sheilds like in the fiction.

lol making the most of borchard's paid holidays. i have completed my first draft of what im looking at fielding. It was based off an all cavalry sample list done on the GW site which i adapted to suite my tastes and theme. Keep in mind this is my very first Fantasy Army list lol

Thats a low model count army but will hit very hard. If you can crush your enemies on the charge you will win the games.
Just try to use the marauders to slow down units and supporting charge rolls. Get hounds behind advancing units to slow their marching and you will be a very strong opponent.

Yeah, still not sure about the Acid Ichor on the sorcerer since ideally its not going to be in close combat lol

I'd suggest dropping the commands on your marauders except for the musicians. Reason being, if they're in combat by themselves theyre screwed anyway, and keeping a musician will allow them to rally more easily if you flee from a charging unit to set them up.
Banner of Rage is awesome with adding frenzy, you'll just have to make sure your opponents dont lead that unit around the table by taking advantage of it.

lol well the list i was basing it off originally had mark of khorn on that unit. but since i want a slaanesh army i decided to take the banner instead. more expensive *shrugs* but keeps with my theme

that a very small army... i assume the marauders are fast cavalry yea? just to give us the shits?
and maybe the hounds?
anyway, im hoping a unit of spearme... uh, lizards will survive 5 knights charging.
