LOL
This sounds to me like GW want to save time and money as always (C%#TS) is all i can say do some work dont fix whats not broken.
The SMs are fine a few slight corrections are needed for the codex but other wise beatoff some where else if anything needs fixing it is Warhammer.... LOL
Im sure these wont be SPECIAL Characters as such so you will be allowed to use them anytime.
And last of all.... ELDAR = second most cheese army ever made. Number one is CHAOS.
Have a nice day and let the dark gods rain blood into your life.

I agree with some of the statements offered.
I can't wait to see them re-vamp and create a multitude of Chapter Masters for a load of Chapters. Something to definatly look forward to!
I am really hoping that they do Primarch models aswell, Imagine being able to field the ORIGINAL marines...
Secondly; Eldar can be cheesey Yes, but honestly the most broken lists are Dual Lash Oblit Lists, and Nob Bikers of Doom

Back to the codex stuff.....
No new models seem to be slated for a SW release. There is one or two coming for direct only but that means any SW characters that are in Termie armour will still be small dodgy metals (they have one or two dont they?)
Sooooo.... 4-6 pages in Aug or Sep WD magazine, a chapter upgrade pack and 2 direct only models. Seems like a good release run.....

I want to stab GW.
And at the moment theres only a few SW models in termy armour, Logan is the only named character in termy armour and he's the correct size.

Maybe you could stab them with a frost blade or whatever they are called but they probably will not make it into the rules under the Chapter Master character....

Do you really honestly like the 'cheese' aspect of the old rules that much?

Its not the cheese. Its the way they play, theyre not nice neat squads of tactical marines shooting away. Theyre packs of wild crazy vikings that rush forward, followed up by the calmer veterans who shoot but can still get stuck in when needed. Their culture and way of war is completely different from normal Marines. Hell marines are a predominantly ranged army whereas Space Wolves are close combat army. I mean dont get me wrong, theres aspects of the marine codex id love to have, like propper assault marines, but not at the cost of my army as it is.

marines are a predominantly ranged army whereas Space Wolves are close combat army bull shit! every marine army I've ever faced is tooled up for HtH, Chaplains, veterans, marines, vet sargents assault rhinos and LRs, blood angels seem to be about 70% of all marines IMX.

hehehe, yeah.
My Dark Angels are based around two 10 man Assault squads with Jump packs, 3 plasmas, and a fist weilding madman. Each are accompanied by a Interogator Chaplain.....
Most 'chapter' marine armies I have played include combat vets and ass squads. Steves Black Templars... Assault fiends.... Kruger Ravenwing... Assault fiends (after they have shot you)....

That last statement is very true but only because they don't have any choice. The basic way the vast majority of game that I have witnessed shooting is only use to try to slow down the opposition in the hope that they will all run away or to thin their numbers before the real game begins.

IMHO this is the natural result of 40K being ridiculously tailored for HtH. Fun though. genestealers for the win.

Heh, I don't have any Ass squads of Termies in my Templars... That's cos' they don't need em' ;D That last statement is very true but only because they don't have any choice. You've seen how I play Guard... Zap Brannigan eat your heart out ;D

It is a HTH game, thats where all the fun is anyways. There was talk of the new rules promoting short range fire fights between armies before they came out but as far as I am concerned the rules for me are simple... Be the one to charge!
My DA's are an assaulting army... Tac squads provie anti tank fire with the heavy weapons while the ret advance to duke it out.
Orcs are even simpler..... Runas fast as I can across the table.....
